Answer:

5.83 or E

Step-by-step explanation:

Use Pythagorean theorem. 5^2+3^2=c^2 because the diameter is perpendicular it cuts the chord in half.

25+9=c^2

34=c^2

5.83

Answer:

x = 5.83.

Step-by-step explanation:

The diameter bisects the vertical chord so the right triangle has legs 3 and 5.

So x^2 = 3^2 + 5^2

x^2 = 34

x = 5.83.

That is odd - if we work it out another way we get a different answer. I guess that must be because the numbers given in the diagram are not possible.

If we use the intersecting chords theorem,  we get (3+6)*3 = 27

= 5 * y where y is the other leg of the right triangle giving y = 5.4

and then this will give x = 6.18.

An angle measures 70° less than the measure of its complementary angle. What is the measure of each angle?
Elina [12.6K]

Answer:

Larger angle: 80 degrees

Smaller angle: 10 degrees

Step-by-step explanation:

complementary angles = two angles that add up to 90 degrees

x = larger angle

x + x - 70 = 90             Add like terms

   2x - 70 = 90                Add 70 on both sides

           2x = 160               Isolate the variable by dividing 2 on both sides

               x = 80

x = larger angle , 80 degrees

x - 70 = smaller angle , 10 degree

a rectangular prism is 5 meters long, 17 meters wide, and 4 meters high. what is the surface area of the rectangular prism?
Mars2501 [29]

The surface area of rectangular prism is 346 square meters.

Given the figure is rectangular prism.

We know that the surface area of rectangular prism with length L, width W and height H is = 2(LW+WH+LH)

Given that the length of prism = 5 m

Width of prism = 17 m

Height of prism = 4 m

So the total surface area of the rectangular prism is given by,

= 2 [5*17 + 17*4 + 4*5]

= 2 [85 + 68 + 20]

= 2*173

= 346 square meters

Hence the surface area of rectangular prism is 346 square meters.

Decompose a fraction equal to one whole
Soloha48 [4]

To decompose a fraction to one whole, there are different methods to use. The fraction can be decomposed either by division, multiplication(if there are more than one fraction), or addition(if there are more than one fractions).

Example:

Given 8/2, decompose by division:

To do this, divide the numerator by denominator

\frac{8}{2}=4
