Answer:

Therefore the friends will have to buy 511 feet of fence (rounding up) or 510 feet of fence ( to the nearest foot).

Step-by-step explanation:

i) perimeter of rectangular yard = 319 feet

ii) perimeter of yard of friends = \frac{8}{5} \times 319 = 510.4

iii) Therefore the friends will have to buy 511 feet of fence or 510 feet of fence ( to the nearest foot).

Moira solved rubik's cube in 3 minutes and 30 seconds. what is moira's solving rate?
Katarina [22]

In the context of rubiks cube solving the rate at which one can solve a rubiks cube is determined by the number of cubes solved and the time taken

In this question we were told that moira solved a rubiks cube in 3 minutes 30 seconds

Let us convert time total time to seconds

3 minutes 30  in seconds = 3*60+ 30 = 180+30 = 210 seconds

Hence  Moira rate  = 1 rubiks cube/210 seconds

The cylinder below has a volume of 536.94 cubic inches. What is the radius of the cylinder? (Use 3.14 for π.)
Anestetic [448]

We have been given volume of the cylinder which is 536.94 cubic inches. Now question says to find the radius of the cylinder.

Then we need to use formula of volume of cylinder which is given by :

Volume = \pi r^2 h

We see that there are three unknown values in the formula: {volume, radius-r, height-h}

So to find any one of them we must know other two values.

Volume is given but height is missing. So just for explanation i'm going to use height of the cylinder h= 19 inches

Now plug the value of volume and height in above formula

536.94 = \pi r^2 *19

536.94 = 3.14 r^2 *19

536.94 = 59.66r^2

\frac{536.94}{59.66} =r^2

9=r^2

take square root of both sides

3=r

Hence radius of the cylinder is 3 inches.

Jason runs 440 yards in 75 seconds. At this rate, how many minutes does it take
Leya [2.2K]

Answer:

5 minutes

Step-by-step explanation:

We know that 1760 yards are in a mile. We can convert the given info into a proportion. 440/75 = 1760/x, where x is the number of seconds it takes to run a mile. Cross-multiply to get 440x = 75*1760. Divide both sides by 440 to get x = 75*4 = 300 seconds. The problem asks for how many minutes so you have to convert 300 seconds to minutes. To do this, we have to divide 300 by 60 to get 5 minutes.
