By convention, the symbol Z is assigned to the number of protons in the nucleus, or simply, the atomic number of an element. This is actually used when you want to determine the effective nuclear charge of a specific electron of an element. The equation is:

Z* = Z - S
where
Z* is the effective nuclear charge
Z is the atomic number
S is the number of electrons between the electron in question and the nucleus

There is due to a phenomenon called the shielding effect. This effect states that the farther the electron is from the nucleus, the lesser is its pull of force to the nucleus. That is the reason why the valence electrons (outermost electrons) are the ones always involved in chemicals reactions. Because they are not that strongly bonded to the nucleus of an atom.

The reaction enhances by 7.632\times 10^{10}  when catalyst is present.

Time taken by reaction without catalyzed = 3900 years

Time taken by reaction with catalyzed = x

x=\frac{3900 year}{7.632\times 10^{10}}=5.11\times 10^{-8} years

The catalyzed reaction will take time of 5.11\times 10^{-8} years.

When we have this balanced equation for a reaction:
Fe(OH)2(s) ↔ Fe+2  + 2OH-

when Fe(OH)2 give 1 mole of Fe+2 & 2 mol of OH-
so we can assume [Fe+2] = X and [OH-] = 2 X
 when Ksp = [Fe+2][OH-]^2
and have Ksp = 4.87x10^-17 
[Fe+2]= X
[OH-] = 2X
so by substitution 
4.87x10^-17 = X*(2X)^2
∴X^3 = 4.8x10^-17 / 4
∴the molar solubility X = 2.3x10^-6 M

Example: would be rabbits, a snow rabbit wouldn't survive very well in the desert and a jack rabbit wouldn't be able to survive in the cold winter due to temp and the fact that predators like wolves would be able to spot it easier from its color of its fur.
