Isotope is defined as atom of same element with same atomic number but different mass number.

Here, atomic number for C-14 and C-12 is 6 but mass number is 14 and 12 respectively.

Atomic number is equal to number of protons and electrons in an atom and mass number is equal to sum of number of protons and neutrons in nucleus of an atom.

A=n_{p}+n_{n}

Since, both have same atomic number, the number of protons will be 6 for both but they have different number of neutrons.

Number of neutrons in C-12:

n_{n}=12-n_{p}=12-6=6

Number of neutrons in C-14:

n_{n}=14-n_{p}=14-6=8

The number of neutrons in C-12 is 6 and that in C-14 is 8. Therefore, isotope C-14 differ from the stable C-12 in number of neutrons.

8. Water behind a dam, a moving car, and electricity moving in a circuit all are examples of
mote1985 [20]

Answer:

a. Help accomplish a job

Explanation:

Energy is defined as the ability to do work. It is the ability to get a job done.

Where energy is deficient, no job or work can be done.

 • In a water behind a dam, potential energy is stored.
 • Potential energy is due to the position of a body.
 • A moving car has kinetic energy which the energy due the motion of a body.
 • Electrical energy is used to carry the currents in a circuit round about.

Which is the best explanation for why a dart is in motion when u throw it at a dart board
Greeley [361]

Answer:

Its kinetic energy

Explanation:The dart is in motion because of the potential energy being stored and turned into kinetic energy, plus since the dart is aerodynamic, it would have more speed for it to hit the dart board.

8. What is the mass of 4.50 x 1022 Cu atoms?
vladimir2022 [97]

Answer:

4.7485 g

Explanation:

4.50 x 10^22 Cu atoms * (1 mol Cu / 6.022 x 10^23 Cu atoms) * 63.546 g Cu/(mol Cu) = 4.7485 g

In every mole of Cu, there are 6.022 x 10^23 atoms (Avogadro's number). The molecular weight of copper is 63.546 g/mol.

Tetrachloromethane, CCl4, is classified as a
Soloha48 [4]
Correct Answer: compound because the atoms of the elements are combined in a fixed proportion.

Reason:
A chemical compound is a chemical substance composed of element (of same or different type) that are bonded in a fixed proportion. Depending upon the type of element, bond can be ionic or covalent. In present case, tetrachloromethane i.e. CCl4 has one 'C' atom that is covalently bonded to four 'Cl' atoms.
