Is (0,0) a solution to this system?
galina1969 [7]
The answer is A because if you plug in the coordinates (0,0) into y<x^2+2x+1 you get....0<1+2+1. Which simplified is 0<4. For the other equation if you plug in (0,0) you'd get 0≤-3 which is false.

How do I use elimination process when solving two variable equations?
kenny6666 [7]
Solve simultaneously:

<span>15x-8y=52 and
6x+14y=38
</span>
Let's solve this system thru elimination by addition/subtraction:

Let's get rid of the x terms.
To do this, mult. the first eqn. by -6 and the second by 15.  (This is not the only way in which we can do this!!)  We get

-90x + 48y = -312
90x   +210y = 570
--------------------------
Add all 3 columns together.  We end up with:

258y = 258, so y = 1.  You can find x by subst. 1 for y in either of the given equations.

If you'd like more help, please be specific about what you want.

Answer:

5 {x}^{2}  + 3 {x}^{2}  + 6x = 3x - 6x + 9x \\ 8 {x}^{2}  + 6x =  - 3x + 9x \\ 8 {x}^{2}  + 6x = 6x \\ 8 {x}^{2}  = 6x - 6x \\ 8 {x}^{2}  = 0 \\ x = 0 \\ thank \: you

Cos 0 = 12/13. Find sin 0.<br> A. 5/12<br> B. 12/5<br> C. 13/12<br> D. 5/13
andreyandreev [35.5K]

Answer:

Sine θ = 5/13

Step-by-step explanation:

From the question given above, the following data were obtained:

Cos θ = 12/13

Sine θ =?

Next, we shall determine the opposite. This can be obtained as follow:

Cos θ = Adjacent /Hypothenus

Cos θ = 12/13

Adjacent = 12

Hypothenus = 13

Opposite =?

Hypothenus² = Opposite² + Adjacent²

13² = Opposite² + 12²

169 = Opposite² + 144

Collect like terms

169 – 144 = Opposite²

25 = Opposite²

Take the square root of both side

Opposite = √25

Opposite = 5

Finally, we shall determine the Sine θ. This can be obtained as follow:

Opposite = 5

Hypothenus = 13

Sine θ =.?

Sine θ = Opposite / Hypothenus

Sine θ = 5/13
