Here you can use the Pythagorean theorem which is a^2+b^2=c^2. Plug in the numbers given. 8^2+15^2=c^2. 64+225=c^2. 289=c^2. 17=c. So c=17. Hope I was able to help.

Please help and show work<br>
Nimfa-mama [501]

Answer:

a ratio of cats to dogs is 5:3 so the total of that ratio is 8 so for every 8 animals there are 5 cats so 5/8*104=65

b. ratio of dogs to cats is 3:5 so 3 of every animal is a dog so 3/8*104 =39

and 39+65=104 as a final check = 104

this also proves that dogs are better than cats

Suppose the population of IQ scores in the town or city where you live is bell-shaped, with a mean of 104 and a standard deviati
SVEN [57.7K]

Answer:

The mean of samples of 100 IQ scores taken out from this population will have a distribution with mean M=104 and standard deviation s=3.5.

Step-by-step explanation:

We know the population mean and standard deviation, that has a bell-shaped distribution:

\mu=104\\\\\sigma=35

The sampling distribution, the distribution of the mean of samples of size n out of this population, will have the same mean as the population mean.

\mu_M=\mu=104

The standard deviation will be related to the population standard deviation and the sample size as:

\sigma_M=\frac{\sigma}{\sqrt{N}} =\frac{35}{\sqrt{100}}=3.5

Then, the mean of samples of 100 IQ scores taken out from this population will have a distribution with mean M=104 and standard deviation s=3.5.

Solve the quadratic equation for x in the simplest equation -6x^2+15x+9=0
Alexus [3.1K]

Answer:

x = 3, -1/2

Step-by-step explanation:

Use the quadratic formula:  x = [-b ± √b² - 4ac]/2a

The square root sign should be over the entire expression b² - 4ac

In this problem, a = -6, b = 15, and c = 9

So, putting in those values, we get x = -15 ± √225+216, all divided by -12

Simplifying further, we get -15 ± 21 all divided by -12, or -36/-12 = 3 OR

6/-12 = -1/2
