Paul has been put in charge of setting up an 8-ball league at his local pool hall. He has set up the league so that two players

play a specific number of games each night the league plays. He is trying to decide if player should play 1, 3, 5, or 7 games each league night. To help make the decision, he has decided to poll the players to see how many games they would prefer to play each night. Which measure of central tendency should Paul use when using the data from the poll to make his decision?
A.
Paul should use the mean of the poll results to guide his decision.
B.
Paul should use the median of the poll results to guide his decision.
C.
Paul should use the mode of the poll results to guide his decision.

Jane works twice as fast as her daughter Anna. If it takes 15 minutes to clean the kitchen together, how long would it take Anna
Sonbull [250]
Here, Twice fast means, she takes half time in doing same amount of work.
Let, Anna takes = 2t & Jane takes = t

It would be: 1/t + 1/2t = 1/15
2t + t / 2t² = 1/15
15(3t) = 2t²
2t² = 45t
Divide both sides by t,
2t = 45
t = 45/2
t = 22.5
& 2t = 22.5(2) = 45

In short, Anna would take 45 minutes

Hope this helps!

A line passes through the point (3,9) and has a slope of 4
expeople1 [14]
Point-slope form is y - y1 = m(x - x1). We just need to plug in our stuff. This gives us y - 9 = 4(x - 3). I am not sure if you need to simplify, but if you do, y - 9 = 4x - 12.

Imagine that you have developed a genetic test to detect the dominant allele (A) that cause a rare genetic condition. As with mo
s344n2d4d5 [400]

Answer:

Correct option: (B) 1.495%.

Step-by-step explanation:

Denote the events as follows:

X = the test is positive.

A = a person with the dominant allele

The information given are:

P(X|A)=1\\P (X|A^{c})=0.005\\P(A)=0.01

According to the law of total probability the probability of an event A, conditional upon the occurrence of another event B is:

P(A)=P(A|B)P(B)+P(A|B^{c})P(B^{c})

Use this law to compute the probability of person having a positive result as follows:

P(X)=P(X|A)P(A)+P(X|A^{c})P(A^{c})\\=(1\times0.01)+(0.005\times(1-0.01))\\=0.01+0.00495\\=0.01495

The percentage of positive result is: 0.01495 × 100 = 1.495%.

Thus, the percentage of the population will give a positive test is 1.495%.
