In a longitudinal wave the particle displacement is parallel to the direction of wave propagation. The animation at right shows a one-dimensional longitudinal plane wave propagating down a tube. The particles do not move down the tube with the wave; they simply oscillate back and forth about their individual equilibrium positions. Pick a single particle and watch its motion. The wave is seen as the motion of the compressed region (ie, it is a pressure wave), which moves from left to right.The second animation at right shows the difference between the oscillatory motion of individual particles and the propagation of the wave through the medium. The animation also identifies the regions of compression and rarefaction.The P Waves(primary waves) in an earthquake are examples of Longitudinal waves. The P waves travel with the fastest velocity and are the first to arrive.

The speed limit sign in indiana reads 60 miles per hour. convert these units to meters per second
cluponka [151]

Answer:

26.822 m/s

Explanation:

60 mi/hr * 5280 ft/mile * 1 hr / 3600 sec * 12 in / foot * 1 meter / 39.37 in = 26.822 m/s

Three batteries are connected in series so that the total voltage is 54 volts. The voltage of the first battery is twice the vol
Alex_Xolod [135]

Answer:

v_1 = 12 volts

v_2 = 6 volts

v_3 = 36 volts

Explanation:

As we know that all the batteries are in series

so the net voltage of all three batteries is given as

V = v_1 + v_2 + v_3

now we know that

v_1 = 2v_2

v_1 = \frac{1}{3}v_3

now plug in all the values in it

54 = v_1 + \frac{v_1}{2} + 3v_1

54 = 4.5 v_1

v_1 = 12 volts

now we have

v_2 = 6 volts

v_3 = 36 volts
