Answer:

(a) 0.255 rad/s.

(b) 149.02 m

Explanation:

(a)

The expression for the average angular speed of the car is given as,

ω = 2π/T........................... Equation 1

Where ω = Angular speed, T = period of the car, π = pie.

Given: T = 24.6 s,

Constant: π = 3.14

Substitute into equation 1

ω = 2(3.14)/24.6

ω = 0.255 rad/s.

(b)

The expression for tangential speed, angular speed and radius s given as

s = rω................... equation 2

Where s = tangential speed, r = radius of the track, ω = angular speed.

make r the subject of the equation

r = s/ω................ Equation 3

Given: s = 38 m/s, ω = 0.255 rad/s

Substitute into equation 3

r = 38/0.255

r = 149.02 m.

Hence the radius of the track = 149.02 m

Calculate the final speed (in m/s) of a 106 kg rugby player who is initially running at 7.75 m/s but collides head-on with a pad
vodomira [7]

Answer:

Final velocity will be -5.33 m/sec

Explanation:

We  have given mass of the rugby player m = 106 kg

Initial speed = 7.75 m/sec

Backward force F=1.85\times 10^4N

Time is given as t=7.5\times 10^{-2}sec

Impulse is given by impulse = force × time

So impulse =-1.85\times 10^4\times 7.5\times 10^{-2}=-1387.5N-s ( as force is backward )

We know that impulse is given by change in momentum

So m(v_f-v_i)=-1387.5

106\times (v_f-7.75)=-1387.5

v_f=-5.33m/sec

Which is an example of a chemical change?

A chemical change results from a chemical reaction, while a physical change is when matter changes forms but not chemical identity. Examples of chemical changes are burning, cooking, rusting, and rotting. Examples of physical changes are boiling, melting, freezing, and shredding.
