Answer:

The power of the pump is 337.5 W.

Explanation:

Power is the rate of transfer of energy or the rate at which work is done. It is measured in watts (W).

                       Power = \frac{Energy}{Time}

But the energy here is the kinetic energy (K.E), which is the energy possessed by a moving body or object.

           K.E = \frac{1}{2} mv^{2}

where m is the mass = 90 kg and v is the velocity = 15 m/s.

    K.E =  \frac{1}{2} × 90 × 15^{2}

         = 10125 Joules

  K.E = 10125 J = 10.125 KJ

So that the power of the pump when t = 30 s is;

              Power = \frac{10125}{30}

                         = 337.5 W

The power of the pump is 337.5 W.

Gravity accelerates any object falling at 9.8 m/s2. What is the force that will be applied to the ground if an 88 kg box falls f
saw5 [17]

Answer:

The force is of the weight <u>862,4 Newtons.</u>

<u></u>

Explanation:

We have the formula:

w = m * g

Data:

w = weight = ¿?

m = mass = 88 kg

g = gravity = 9,8 m/s

Replacing according formula:

w = 88 kg * 9,8 m/s

Resolving:

w = 862,4 N

Sound travels at a speed of about 344 m/s in air. You see a distant flash of lighting and hear the thunder arrive 7.6 seconds la
Mazyrski [523]

Answer:

0.056 miles away

Explanation:

From sound wave,

v = 2x/t .................................. Equation 1

Where v = velocity of sound in air, x = distance of echo, t = time.

making x the subject of the equation,

x = 2v/t........................... Equation 2.

Given: v = 344 m/s, t = 7.6 s.

Substituting into equation 2

x = 2(344)/7.6

x = 90.53 m.

x = 90.53/1609.344

x = 0.056 mile.

Thus the lighting strike 0.056 miles away
