The measure of randomness or uncertainty of the substance is known as the entropy of the substance.

Under the standard state, the entropy of one mole of substance is known as its standard molar entropy.

The structure of cyclopropane and propylene is shown in the attached image.

Since, the structure of propylene is an open chain structure thus, possessing high randomness. Whereas the structure of cyclopropane is ring (closed) structure and thus, not that much free to move and has less randomness.

Hence, the structure of propylene will have the higher standard molar entropy.

What is a possible quantum number set for an electron in the 2s orbital of a beryllium (Be) atom?
Artist 52 [7]

Answer is: 2,0,0,±1/2.

1) n = 1. The principal quantum number (n) is one of four quantum numbers which are assigned to each electron in an atom to describe that electron's state.

2) l = 0. The azimuthal quantum number is a quantum number for an atomic orbital that determines its orbital angular momentum and describes the shape of the orbital.

3) ml = 0. Magnetic quantum number specify orientation of electrons in magnetic field and number of electron states (orbitals) in subshells.

Magnetic quantum number (ml) specifies the orientation in space of an orbital of a given energy and shape . Magnetic quantum number divides the subshell into individual orbitals which hold the electrons, there are 2l+1 orbitals in each subshell.

4) The spin quantum number, ms, is the spin of the electron; ms = +1/2 or -1/2.

Determine the poh of a 0.348 m ba(oh)2 solution at 25°c.
vladimir1956 [14]

Given:

Concentration of Ba(OH)2 = 0.348 M

To determine:

pOH of the above solution

Explanation:

Based on the stoichiometry-

1 mole of Ba(OH)2 is composed of 1 mole of Ba2+ ion and 2 moles of OH- ion

Therefore, concentration of OH- ion = 2*0.348 = 0.696 M

pOH = -log[OH-] = - log[0.696] = 0.157

Ans: pOH of 0.348M Ba(OH)2 is 0.157

What is big bang theory?
ZanzabumX [31]

Answer:

The Big Bang Theory is the leading explanation about how the universe began. At its simplest, it says the universe as we know it started with a small singularity, then inflated over the next 13.8 billion years to the cosmos that we know today

Explanation: According to the standard Big Bang model, the universe was born during a period of inflation that began about 13.8 billion years ago. Like a rapidly expanding balloon, it swelled from a size smaller than an electron to nearly its current size within a tiny fraction of a second.
