A person’s genetic makeup cannot be determined simply by phenotype (physical traits). Identify whether or not these are reasons

why racial stereotypes like ""White Men Can’t Jump"" or ""Asians Are Better at Math"" do not have any biological basis.

Answer:

Race vs Genetics

Explanation:

As humans we try to classify organism as well as ourselves in categories based on patterns of behaviour.  Persons are often grouped according to phenotype traits and cultural practices as a "race" of people. Likewise cultural practices may or ma not include the encouragement of certain behaviour such as "jumping" or "doing math" these come from traditions that have been observed over many generations.  Genetic presentation, however, is quite different since we are all humans and deviants are not that distinct for basic abilities such as "jumping" or "doing math". Thus far, genetic information has only been reliable in placing individuals in certain geographic zones.

What would be the expected result if a competitive, nonhydrolyzable analog of ATP were applied to the cytoplasmic side of a plas
Yakvenalex [24]

Answer:

The cell interior would experience higher than normal Na+ concentrations and lower than normal K+ concentrations.

Explanation:

The Na/⁺K⁺ pump is an ATPase pump which is responsible for maintaining low Na⁺ and high K⁺ concentrations within the cytoplasm while maintaining high Na⁺ and low K⁺ concentrations in the extracellular fluid.

Since these two ions are moved against their concentration gradient, ATP hydrolysis is required to provide the energy for this process. This is done by moving in two K⁺ ions  inside while moving three Na⁺ ions outside the cell for every molecule of ATP hydrolysed to ADP and Pi.

If a competitive non-hydrolyzable analog of ATP is applied on the cytoplasmic side of a plasma membrane that contained a large concentration of the Na/⁺K⁺ pump, it will act by inhibiting the action of the Na/⁺K⁺ pump. This will result in an accumulation of Na⁺ ions inside the cell and lower than normal K⁺ ions concentration.

Anatomy of the liver: an outline with three levels of complexity--a further step towards tailored territorial liver resections.
QveST [7]

Depending on the purpose for which the description is needed, there are three various levels of complexity at which the vascular architecture of the liver might be described:

  • The first level, known as the conventional level, is equivalent to Couinaud's classic 8-segment scheme and serves as a common language for doctors from other disciplines to define the location of localized hepatic lesions.
  • The true branching of the hepatic veins and the main portal pedicles is taken into consideration in the second, surgical level, which will be used for anatomical liver resections and transplantations. Modern surgical and radiological procedures may fully exploit this anatomy, but doing so involves acknowledging that the Couinaud scheme is oversimplified and examining the vascular architecture objectively.
  • The third degree of complexity, known as the academic level, is focused on the anatomist and the requirement to provide a systematization that clarifies the apparent conflicts between anatomical literature, radiological imaging, and surgical practice.
