An object has a mass of 12kg. On Planet A, the object weighs 117.6 N. Is the force of gravity on Planet A equal to, less than or

greater than the force of gravity on Earth?

Well I don't know !
Let's work it out:

       Weight = (mass) x (local acceleration of gravity)

         117.6 N  =  (12 kg) x (gravity)

         Gravity on Planet A  =  (117.6 N) / (12 kg)

                                       =      9.8 m/s²  exactly

The gravity on Planet-A is so close to Earth gravity
that nobody could ever tell the difference without
making sensitive measurements.
They are essentially equal.

Two boxes need to be moved into storage. Jamal and Jude each want to move a box. The force of gravity on both the boxes is 50 N.
jolli1 [7]

Answer:

Explanation:

Remark

If both are trying to get the box into storage and they can only  use lifting to do it, then Jude won't be able to do it. This assumes they cannot slide the boxes. Jude is not using enough force to overcome gravity so the box will just sit.

On the other hand Jamel is putting enough force to not only lift the box but it will move upwards against gravity. If we ignore that fact, then Jamel will get his box into storage.

A particular milliampere-seconds value, regardless of the combination of milliamperes and time, will reproduce the same radiogra
finlep [7]

Answer:

C. Reciprocity law

Explanation:

The reciprocity law is based on the assumption that the density or blackening of a photographic film is dependent merely on the exposure or quantity of radiant energy which the film absorbs and is independent of the rate at which the energy is applied.

This law pertains to the milliampere-seconds in the sense that all combinations of milliamperes and time  that amount to an equal quantity will produce the same amount of radiographic density.

The answer is:

C. Reciprocity law

11. A car is pulled with a force of 10,000 N. The car's mass is 1267 kg. But, the car covers 394.6 m in 15 seconds.
aleksklad [387]

Answer:

A) a = 7.89 m/s²

B) a = 3.51 m/s²

C) 4.38 m/s²

D) Frictional force

E) F_f = 5552.83 N

Explanation:

A) Formula for Force is;

F = ma

Where;

m is mass

a is acceleration

We are given;

F = 10,000 N

m = 1267 kg

Thus;

10000 = 1267a

a = 10000/1267

a = 7.89 m/s²

B) We are told the car covers 394.6 m in 15 seconds.

Using Newton's third equation equation of motion, we can find the actual acceleration.

s = ut + ½at²

u is zero since the object began from rest.

Thus;

S = ½at²

394.6 = ½ × a × 15²

a = 394.6 × 2/225

a = 3.51 m/s²

C) difference in accelerations = 7.89 - 3.51 = 4.38 m/s²

D) The force that caused the difference in acceleration is frictional force

E) To find the magnitude of the force that caused the difference in acceleration, we will use the formula;

F - F_f = ma

F_f = F - ma

Where F_f is the frictional force

Thus;

F_f = 10000 - 1267(3.51)

F_f = 5552.83 N
