When x-rays of wavelength 0.312 nm are directed at a crystalline sample, the smallest bragg angle for a certain family of reflec

ting planes is found to be 28.5°. within the sample, the atoms lie on a simple cubic lattice, a 2-dimensional view of which is shown to the right. assuming that the constructive interference observed is due to the pair of diagonal planes indicated by the two dashed lines, find the distance a between neighboring atoms?

The equation for bragg's law is nλ=2dsinθ. The smallest angle is when n=1 and we are told the angle is 28.5. d in our equation is the distance between atoms. So:

(1)(0.312*10^-9)=2dsin(28.5)

Solving for d we get

d=3.26925*10^-10m

Sever21 [200]

Answer;

Potassium chloride

Explanation;

 • Potassium Chloride is an ionic compound and has ionic bond which is stronger than covalent bond in ethyl alcohol,water ,ammonia, and thus has the highest boiling point .
 • ionic bond is a type of bond that results from the transfer of electrons between metallic atoms and non-metallic atoms.

When the electric field strength is large, electric field lines are: a) close together.
LekaFEV [45]

Answer: a) close together

Explanation: The electric field lines also represent the intensity of the field, in this sense for strong electric fields it is usually draw the lines close to each other. In constrast when they are far apart the electric field is weak.

A car traveling at 40 ft/sec decelerates at a constant 5 feet per second per second. how many feet does the car travel before co
Tema [17]
This problem is solved by the equation of motion: x = x0 + v0*t + 1/2*a*t^2, Here x0 = 0, v0 = 40ft/sec and a = -5 ft/s^2, we need to solve for t: v = v0 + a*t, solve how long does it take to stop: 0 = v0 + a*t --> a*t = -v0 --> t = -v0/a -- > 40/5 = 8 seconds to stop. In this time, the car travels x = 0 + 40*8 + 0.5*-5*8^2 ft ~ 160 ft. Answer: The car travels 160 ft.

Which of the following statements are true?Check all that apply.
MaRussiya [10]

Answer:

1.The Sun is located at one of the foci of the planets' elliptical orbits.

2.The path of the planets around the Sun is elliptical in shape.

Explanation:

As per Kepler's law of planet motion we know that all planets revolve around the sun in elliptical path in such a way that position of Sun must be at one of the focii of the path

So all planets are in elliptical path always

Position of sun is always at one of the focus

so correct answer will be

1.The Sun is located at one of the foci of the planets' elliptical orbits.

2.The path of the planets around the Sun is elliptical in shape.

A 0.47 kg mass is attached to a spring with a spring constant of 130 N/m so that the mass is allowed to move on a horizontal fri
Sidana [21]

Answer:

F= 15.6 N, a= 33.2 m/s^2

Explanation:

mass= m = 0.47 kg

spring constant= k = 130N/m

spring compression = x = 0.12 m

a).

force on the mass= F = k*x

F = 130 * 0.12 N

F= 15.6 N

b).

Acceleration of mass= a=?

F= ma

a=F / m

a= 15.6/ 0.47 m/s^2

a= 33.2 m/s^2
