The solution contains four ions

Ca2+, Na+, OH−, and CO3^-2

so there are following four combinations are possible

NaOH : this is highly soluble in water so will not form precipitate

Ca(OH)2: this is highly soluble in water so will not form precipitate

Na2CO3: again soluble in water so will not form precipitate

CaCO3 : this is not soluble in water (it has low solubility product) so this will form precipitate most likely

The compounds that can be formed by using only the cations and anions found in the item above are as follows: (1) Ca3(CO2)2, Na3CO2, NaOH, Ca(OH)2

The last two in the given are in aqueous phase. We are then left with the first two choices. Ca3(CO2)2 is exhibits a phase that is in solid form.

Hence, the answer to the question is Ca3(CO2)2

What is the bond dissociation energy for breaking all the bonds in a mole of o2 molecules?
djverab [1.8K]

Answer:

498 kj/mol

Explanation:

 • Chemical reactions occur as a result of bond breaking and bond formation.
 • The bonds in reactants are broken and atoms are rearranged to form new bonds.
 • During bond breaking energy is absorbed to break the bonds of reactants while bond formation involves the release of energy during the formation of new bonds.

In our case;

In 1 mole of the Oxygen molecule, there is one O=O bond

Energy absorbed to break O=O is 498 kJ/mol

Therefore, the ΔH required to break all the bonds in one mole of Oxygen(O₂) molecules is 498kJ/mol.

Note that, bond breaking is endothermic since energy is absorbed from the surroundings.
