Answer: 43.

Explanation:

Mass number is the sum of protons and neutrons of an atom.

The number of prortons is the atomic number, so you can write:

Mass number = atomic number + number of neutrons. From which you get;

number of neutrons = mass number - atomic number = 80 - 37 = 43

All the atoms of a given element have the same number of protons. That is why the number of protons idenfies the elements and is called atomic number.

The number of neutrons of a given element may be different for different atoms of the same element.

The atoms of an element that have different number of neutrons are called isotopes. So, different isotopes of the same element have same atomic number but different mass number.

The atomic number will indicate the number of protons in an element and the mass number will indicate the sum of protons and neutrons in an element so from the given, to get the neutron you will just simply subtract. 80-37= 43 neutrons.

A compound that conducts electricity when dissolved in water would most likely be classified as
Dimas [21]

Answer:

Electrolyte

Explanation:

A compound that conducts electricity when dissolved in water would most likely be classified as electrolyte.

The ionic compound in solid form do not conduct the electricity but when dissolve in water they separated into ions and have ability to conduct the electricity because of mobile ions that move freely and allow the charge to flow.

The ionic compounds are called electrolyte and electrolyte solution is formed when they dissolve in water.

For example when sodium chloride is placed into water it split into ions and conduct electricity because of mobile ions.

leonid [27]
The melting of ice is an event which is endothermic. Endothermic is the process when heat is transfer from the environment to the object. It happens when the onject absorbs the heat just like melting of ice. The ice is in solid form due to the compaction of positively charged atoms in it but when heat carrying electrons made contact to it, it melted.
