The answer is ‘Foliated rocks are metamorphic rocks (rocks that have ‘morphed’ into another type of rock due to being subjected to high temperatures and pressure over time) that are not foliated’ , that is, they have no appearance of layers/bands in their rock structure. Examples of non-foliated metamorphic rocks are marble and quartzite.

Identify three types of natural selection for a polygenic trait.
kaheart [24]

Answer:

A polygenic trait can be described as a physical trait which is influenced by more than one gene.

The three types of selection for a polygenic trait are:

1) Directional Selection: In a directional selection, one of the phenotype is favored in an ecosystem. As a result of this favoring, the allelic frequency changes and shifts in favor of this particular trait.

2) Stabilizing selection: It is a type of natural selection in which the intermediate trait is favored. The population carries a middle trait in abundance.

3) Disruptive Selection: Disruptive trait is a type of natural selection in which the traits on the extreme sides are favored. The intermediate traits are less favored.

The NET reproduction per individual per unit time (r) is _____ per mouse per month in a population of 1,000 mice where 500 mice
Phantasy [73]

Answer:

0.1

Explanation:

The Net Reproduction per individual per unit time (r) can be calculated as (births-deaths)/population size

Given that:

Population size of mice = 1,000; Birth = 500; Death = 400,

Net reproduction rate (r) = (births-deaths)/population size

r = (500 – 400)/1000

r = 100/1000

r = 0.1

The Net reproduction per individual per unit time (r) is 0.1

In the food pyramid, the greatest biomass appears at the level of A) Birds and Mammals. B) Insects and Zooplankton. C) Phytoplan
Romashka [77]
I think the answer should be:D) Small Fish and other Aquatic Species

In food pyramid, the biomass will be much lower in the higher level. In general, every level will have lower of mass/energy compared to the level below. Then, the greatest biomass should be found in the producer class. High-level consumer like bird or mammals should have the lowest mass.
But it was inverted in aquatic, producer become the lowest mass so phytoplankton and zooplankton must be lowest. You should be able to exclude option A and C so it is either option B or D. Since B has zooplankton, I prefer to choose D
