An ecosystem has 150 organisms of 15 different species. What is the biodiversity index of this ecosystem?
iren2701 [21]

Answer:

0.1

Explanation:

To calculate this, scientists use a formula called the biodiversity index in order to describe how much are the species of a given area diverse. It is calculated by taking the number of species in the area and divided by the total number of individuals in that area. This gives us the biodiversity index.

In this example, there are 15 species in an area and we divide that by 150 organisms to get a 0.1 biodiversity index.

Alexxx [7]
I believe that an adjuvant is a chemical addictive that increases the effectiveness of vaccines. It is a pharmacological or immunological agent that modifies the effect of other agents. It may be added to a vaccine to modify the immune response by boosting it such as to give a higher amount of antibodies and a longer lasting protection, and hence minimizing the amount of the foreign material or vaccine injected.

How do seed plants loose water, and how do they prevent too much water from being lost.
alexdok [17]

Answer:

Plants reduce water loss by closing their stomata, developing thick cuticles, or by possessing leaf hairs to increase the boundary layer. Stomata are quick to respond to environmental cues to protect the plant from losing too much water, but still allowing in enough carbon dioxide to drive photosynthesis.

What do you think? Are humans an invasive species? Refer to the definition of invasive species to support your answer. Invasive
Sedaia [141]

Answer:

Yes, the humans are invasive species.

Explanation:

The homeland of the modern day humans is Africa, thus they are native o the African continent. But the humans started to spread gradually, first in Eurasia, and later in Australia, North America, South America, and the Pacific islands, to a point now where they have reached pretty much every corner of the world. This is a textbook example of an invasive species that has entered into new ecosystems. Not just that the humans were entering into new ecosystems, but they also were changing the ecosystems, more often then not causing a lot of damage on them, leading to the destruction of lot of habitats and extinction of lot of species.
