Answer:

A mixture is just a combination of things, like air (made up of different but distinct gasses), or toothpaste, where compounds are physically mixed together but stay fundamentally what they started as. If there is a chemical change, like hydrogen and chlorine gas reacting to form hydrochloride acid, then it is known as a new compound.

So there are things called elements, all things on periodic table, like hydrogen, oxygen, carbon, chlorine, magnesium, etc. All of this can be further broken down into proton, neutrons and electrons, but that's slightly off topic. So when elements bond together they form compounds or molecules, like water (made up two hydrogens and an oxygen). The bond is a sharing of electrons that keeps these elements together. When you have several different kinds of substances together you get a mixture. so think of salt water. salt (made of sodium and Chlorine elements bonded into crystals that we call salt) dissolves in the water but they don't combine to form a new compound or molecule. Through other processes you could separate the salt and the water. This is reversible physical combination of two molecules that only change the state of salt crystals. A mixture is just a combination of things, like air (made up of different but distinct gasses), or toothpaste, where compounds are physically mixed together but stay fundamentally what they started as. if there is a chemical change, like hydrogen and Chlorine gas reacting to form hydrochloride acid, then it is known as a new compound.

hope that helped.

Hydrogen is manufactured on an industrial scale by this sequence of reactions:
hichkok12 [17]

Answer:

K=K_1*K_2\\\\K=\frac{[H_2]^3[CO_2][H_2]}{[CH_4][H_2O][H_2O]}

Explanation:

Hello there!

In this case, for the given chemical reaction, it turns out firstly necessary to write the equilibrium expression for both reactions 1 and 2:

K_1=\frac{[CO][H_2]^3}{[CH_4][H_2O]} \\\\K_2=\frac{[CO_2][H_2]}{[CO][H_2O]}

Now, when we combine them to get the overall expression, we infer these two are multiplied to get:

K=K_1*K_2\\\\K=\frac{[CO][H_2]^3}{[CH_4][H_2O]} *\frac{[CO_2][H_2]}{[CO][H_2O]}\\\\K=\frac{[H_2]^3[CO_2][H_2]}{[CH_4][H_2O][H_2O]}

Regards!

Which of the following processes are exothermic and which are endothermic?
suter [353]

Endothermic reactions are reactions that proceed by the absorption of heat (energy) while exothermic reactions involve a release of energy.

a) Formation of frost on a car window in winter is an exothermic process as heat is liberated when liquid water freezes to form crystals

b) Formation of water condensate on a glass of ice water is an endothermic reaction since heat is absorbed by the cold water from the glass container thereby cooling it.

c) A decrease in the temperature as ammonium nitrate is added to water is an endothermic reaction

You need to prepare 2.00 L of 0.100 M Na2CO3 solution. The best procedure is to weigh out: ___________
jeka94

Answer:

The answer to your question is letter C

Explanation:

Data

Volume = 2 L

Molarity = 0.100 M

Molecular weight Na₂CO₃ = (2 x 23) + (1 x 12) + (3 x 16)

                                           = 46 + 12 + 48

                                           = 106 g

Process

1.- Calculate the grams of Na₂CO₃ needed

                         106 g ----------------  1 mol

                           x      ----------------  0.1 moles

                           x = (0.1 x 106) / 1

                           x = 10.6 g

2.- Calculate the grams of Na₂CO₃ needed for 2 liters of solution

                           10.6 g -------------- 1 liter

                            x        --------------  2 liters

                           x = (10.6 x 2) / 1

                           x = 21.2 grams of Na₂CO₃
