Robby went on a field trip where he mined for minerals. He was so excited that he found real gold because it was yellow and shin

y! His teacher asked him to do a test to prove that he had found real gold. He used a ceramic plate and scratched the mineral on the plate. He noticed a greenish black streak on the plate. Robby was diappointed, because gold has a golden yellow streak. He had really found pyrite. Which test did Robby use to determine if he had found gold?

Consider the generic reaction: 2 A(g) + B(g) → 2 C(g). If a flask initially contains 1.0 atm of A and 1.0 atm of B, what is the
irina1246 [14]

Answer:

b. 1.5 atm.

Explanation:

Hello!

In this case, since the undergoing chemical reaction suggests that two moles of A react with one moles of B to produce two moles of C, for the final pressure we can write:

P=P_A+P_B+P_C

Now, if we introduce the stoichiometry, and the change in the pressure x we can write:

P=1.0-2x+1.0-x+2x

Nevertheless, since the reaction goes to completion, all A is consumed and there is a leftover of B, and that consumed A is:

x=\frac{1.0atm}{2}=0.5atm

Thus, the final pressure is:

P=1.0-2(0.5)+1.0-(0.5)+2(0.5)\\\\P=1.5atm

Therefore the answer is b. 1.5 atm.

Best regards!

How does advertising affect the sales of orbit white
MAXImum [283]
It would get the news out about Orbit White, and people would hear about it, and/or see the advert.  They might even want to buy it or go into the grocery store thinking about it and end up buying it.

I hope I didn't misread the question because this looks more like an English/ Social Studies question than a chemistry question.

why do you use a graduated cylinder to measure out the desired volume of koh and h2so4, rather than a pipet or a buret?
sergey [27]

The graduated cylinder is used to measure the volume of KOH and H2SO4 when accurate volume measurement is not required.

In the laboratory certain graduated apparatus are used to measure liquids. These graduated apparatus used to measure liquids include;

  • burette
  • pipette
  • measuring cylinder
  • Erlenmeyer flask

Sometimes, we are not really looking for a strictly accurate volume of liquid and we can use a graduated cylinder to measure the volume of liquid in such cases.

However, when we need to have strictly accurate volume measurement, we need a pipet or a buret.
