True False Suppose I have a resistor of some resistance R. If I were to double the length and double the cross-sectional area of

the resistor, what is the new resistance?
Physics

Explanation:

The resistance of a wire is given by :

R=\rho\dfrac{l}{A}

Where

\rho is the resistivity of the wire

l = initial length of the wire

A = initial area of cross section

If length and the area of cross section of the wire is doubled then new length is l' and A', l' = 2 l and A' = 2 A

So, new resistance of the wire is given by :

R'=\rho\dfrac{l'}{A'}

R'=\rho\dfrac{l}{A}

R' = R

So, the resistance of the wire remains the same on doubling the length and the area of wire.

What forces must be balanced in the Bohr model?
Solnce55 [7]
The correct answer is:
<span>A. electron attraction between electron and nucleus = centripetal force of the orbiting electron

In fact, Bohr model depicts the atom as a nucleus surrounded by electrons in circular orbit around it, similar to the planets around the Sun. The centripetal force that keeps the electrons in circular motion around the nucles is provided by the electrostatic force between the electrons and the nucleus, so option A is the correct one.</span>

1. Which of the following equations can be used to directly calculate an object s momentum, p?
Taya2010 [7]

Answer:

p = mv

Explanation:

The momentum of an object is given by the equation:

p=mv

where

m is the mass of the object

v is the velocity

Since velocity is a vector, it follows that momentum is a vector as well, therefore it has a magnitude and a direction (the same as the velocity).

The SI unit of the momentum is kg \cdot m\cdot  s^{-1}

An important law related to the momentum is the law of conservation of momentum, which states that for an isolated system (= zero net external force on it), the total momentum of the system is conserved.

Jason while driving on Kukum highway at 70 m.s – 1 seeing the traffic light turn red, he applies the brake and comes to rest in
strojnjashka [21]

Answer:

35 m/s^2

Explanation:

Decceleration =   change in velocity / change in time

                        =  ( 70 m/s ) / 2 seconds = 35 m/s^2

   DEcceleration = 35 m/s^2

       Jason's speed changes by  - 35 m/s^2
