If you look on the periodic table (especially one online) you can see that it is colour coded...so this might help...

If you look you can see a "staircase"..which consists of B, Si, Ge, As, Sb, Te, Po...If it is on the lefthand side of the staircase it is a metal (ie: Ni) or if it is on the righthand side it is a non metal. There is lots of images on google that can help point it out.

If you are talking in terms of properties you should look for (Metal) materials that are:
Lustrous
Hard.
High density (heavy for their size)
High strength (resist being stretched)
High melting and boiling points.
Good conductors of heat and electricity.

Non metals are/have:
High ionization
High electronegativities
Not malleable or ductile.
Little or no metallic luster.
Gain electrons easily.
Dull, not metallic-shiny
poor conductors of heat
and poor conductors of electricity

Hope this helps!

Write a conclusion statement that addresses the following questions: • Explain what the color change indicated about the changes
Novay_Z [31]

Answer: try to understand coz the question is not valid

Explanation: Explain the relationship between forward and reverse reactions at equilibrium and predict how changing the amount of a reactant or product (creating a stress) will affect that relationship. For example (select one from each underlined section)If the amount of (reactant or product) increases, the rate of the (forward or reverse)reaction will (increase or decrease)to reach a new equilibrium. If the amount of (reactant or product) decreases, the rate of the (forward or reverse)reaction will (increase or decrease)to reach a new equilibrium. Procedure: Access the virtual lab and complete the inquiry experiment

Calculate the concentration of all ions present in each of the following solutions of strong electrolytes. a. 0.100 mole of Ca(N
pickupchik [31]

Answer:

[Ca²⁺] = 1M

[NO₃⁻] = 2M

Explanation:

Calcium nitrate dissociates in water as follows:

Ca(NO₃)₂ ⇒ Ca²⁺ + 2NO₃⁻

The moles of Ca²⁺ can be found using the molar relationship between Ca(NO₃)₂ and Ca²⁺

(0.100mol Ca(NO₃)₂) (Ca²⁺ /Ca(NO₃)₂) = 0.100 mol Ca²⁺

The concentration of Ca²⁺ is then:

[Ca²⁺] = n/V = (0.100mol)/(100.0mL) x (1000ml)/(1L) = 1M

Similarly, moles of NO₃⁻ can be found using the molar relationship between Ca(NO₃)₂ and NO₃⁻:

(0.100mol Ca(NO₃)₂) (2NO₃⁻/Ca(NO₃)₂) = 0.200 mol NO₃⁻

The concentration of NO₃⁻ is then:

[NO₃⁻] = (0.200mol)/(100.0mL) x (1000ml)/(1L) = 2M
