Environmental science is an interdisciplinary field which extends into other fields.
The environment refers to all that is around us, a scientist studying environment science needs to know how chemical reactions occur in the environment and how this affect the organisms living in the environment. Geology involves the extraction of minerals and other resources from the interior of the earth, an environmental scientist needs to know how the activities of the geologists affect the environment. For instance, how does oil spillage during crude oil drilling affect the organisms living in the water.<span />
