Let
p---------------> is the perimeter of the base
s--------------> is the slant height
ba-----------> is the area of the base
la-----------> is the lateral area

we know that
[surface area of the pyramid]=area of the base+perimeter of the base*slant height/2
so
[surface area of the pyramid]=ba+p*s/2
 la=p*s/2
[surface area of the pyramid]=ba+la

the answer is
surface area=ba+p*s/2
surface area=ba+la

Solve the quadratic equation 3x²-3x-1=0?<br>(by using the square method)
ohaa [14]

Answer:

x=1 and x=-1/3

Step-by-step explanation:

3x^2-2x-1=0\\\\3(x^2-\frac{2}{3}x-\frac{1}{3})=0\\ \\3(x^2-\frac{2}{3}x-\frac{1}{3}+\frac{4}{9})=3(\frac{4}{9})\\ \\ 3(x^2-\frac{2}{3}x+\frac{1}{9})=\frac{4}{3}\\ \\ 3(x-\frac{1}{3})^2=\frac{4}{3}\\ \\(x-\frac{1}{3})^2=\frac{4}{9}\\ \\x-\frac{1}{3}=\pm\frac{2}{3}

x-\frac{1}{3}=\frac{2}{3}\\ \\x=\frac{3}{3}\\ \\x=1

x-\frac{1}{3}=-\frac{2}{3}\\ \\x=-\frac{1}{3}

Therefore, x=1 and x=-1/3

Angela shared a cab with her friends. When they arrived at their destination, they evenly divided the $j fare
Ipatiy [6.2K]

Total  friends = 3

fare = $ J

She also paid $5 tip

So there is J amount of money splitted into 3 friends.

That means you divide J/3 .

After Angela also  pays additional tip of $5.

That means you also add 5.

So the expression for how much Angela pay in total is: J/3 + 5

Juan put three square tiles with sides 8 centimeters, 10 centimeters, and x centimeters together so that they form a right trian
Elan Coil [88]
Since the area of a square is equal to the square of one of its side's length, then the area should be equivalent to x^{2}.
A = x^{2} ---> equation (1)
By using pythagoras rule which states that the x^{2} = hyp^2 - opposite^2---> equation (2)
where the opposite side's length is 8 and the hypotenuse side's length is 10
by substituting by the values in equation (2) therefore,
x^{2} = 10^{2} - 8^{2} substitute this value in equation (1) then
A = x^{2} = 10^{2} -8^{2}
where A is the area of the square whose side is x

There exists a linear function f(x) such that f(6) = 8, f(2)=20, and f(a) = 16. What is the value of 2a?
atroni [7]

Answer:

a = 10/3.

Step-by-step explanation:

We write the linear function as follows:

f(x) = mx + b   where m is the slope and b is the y-intercept.

f(6) = 6m + b = 8

f(2) = 2m + b = 20    Subtracting these 2 equations:

4m = -12

m = -3.

and  -3 * 2 + b = 20 so:

b =   20 + 6 = 26.

So we have the linear function:

f(x) = -3 x + 26

f(a) = 16 = -3 a + 26

-3 a = 16-26

a = -10 * -3 =  10/3.

Pls help I don’t get it
Setler [38]

Answer:

x=-5, y=-2

Step-by-step explanation:

10x-9y=-32

2x-10y=10

(2x-10y)*5=10*5

10x-50y=50

(10x-9y)-(10x-50y)=-32-50

41y=-82

y=-82/2

y=-2

10x-9(-2)=-32

10x+18=-32

10x=-50

x=-5
