In the city of Kigali, the capital of Rwanda, members of the presidential guard organized the first persecutions against the moderate Tutsis and Hutus who formed the political opposition group in the country. The spread of hatred has resulted in the formation of an unofficial militia called Interahamwe, which means "those who attack together".
