The difference between delta and harbor is is that delta is the fourth letter of the modern greek alphabet while harbor is a sheltered expanse of water, adjacent to land, in which ships may dock or anchor, especially for loading and unloading.

Calculate the work against gravity required to build the right circular cone of height 4 m and base of radius 1.2 m out of a lig
Nana76 [90]

Answer:

Work done = 35467.278 J

Explanation:

Given:

Height of the cone = 4m

radius (r) of the cone = 1.2m

Density of the cone = 600kg/m³

Acceleration due to gravity, g = 9.8 m/s²

Now,

The total mass of the cone (m) = Density of the cone × volume of the cone

Volume of the cone = \frac{1}{3}\pi r^2 h

thus,

volume of the cone = \frac{1}{3}\pi 1.2^2\times 4 = 6.03 m³

therefore, the mass of the cone = 600 Kg/m³ × 6.03 m³ = 3619.11 kg

The center of mass for the cone lies at the \frac{1}{4}times the total height

thus,

center of mass lies at,  h' = \frac{1}{4}\times4=1m

Now, the work gone (W) against gravity is given as:

W = mgh'

W = 3619.11kg × 9.8 m/s² × 1 = 35467.278 J

The index of refraction for a certain type of glass is 1.641 for blue light and 1.603 for red light. When a beam of white light
exis [7]

Answer:

The angle between the emergent blue and red light is 0.566^{o}

Explanation:

We have according to Snell's law

n_{1}sin(\theta _{i})=n_{2}sin(\theta _{r})

Since medium from which light enter's is air thus n_{1}=1

Thus for blue incident light we have

1\times sin(40.05)=1.641\times sin(\theta _{rb})\\\\\therefore \theta _{rb}=sin^{-1}(\frac{sin(40.05)}{1.64})\\\\\theta _{rb}=23.10

Similarly using the same procedure for red light we have

1\times sin(40.05)=1.603\times sin(\theta _{rr})\\\\\therefore \theta _{rr}=sin^{-1}(\frac{sin(40.05)}{1.603})\\\\\theta _{rr}=23.66^{o}

Thus the absolute value of angle between the refracted blue and red light is

|23.66-23.10|=0.566^{o}

The weight of spaceman Speff at the surface of planet X, solely due to its gravitational pull, is 389 N. If he moves to a distan
miv72 [106K]

Answer:

mass of the planet X = 5.6 × 10²³ kg.

Explanation:

According to Newtons law of universal gravitation,

F = GM₁M₂/r²

Where F = gravitational force, M₁ = mass of the speff, M₂ = mass of the planet X, G = gravitational constant r = distance between the speff and the planet X

making M₂ The subject of the equation above,

M₂ = Fr²/GM₁ .......................... equation 2

Where F = 24.31 N, r = 1.08×18⁴km ⇒( convert to m ) =1.08 × 10⁴  × 1000 m

r = 1.08  × 10⁷ m, G = 6.67  × 10 ⁻¹¹ Nm²/kg², M₁ = 75 kg

Substituting this values in equation 2,

M₂ = 24.13(1.08  × 10⁷ )²/75( 6.67  × 10 ⁻¹¹)

M₂ = 24.13 × 1.17 × 10¹⁴/500.25 × 10⁻¹¹

M₂ = (28.23 × 10¹⁴)/(500.25 × 10⁻¹¹)

M₂ = 0.056 × 10²⁵

M₂ = 5.6 × 10²³ kg.

Therefore mass of the planet X = 5.6 × 10²³ kg.
