I think the answer is 56 because if you look at the box and whisker plot the box at the bottom between 54,56,58.
Then look at the line in the middle that is showing you the median. Which means the answer is 56. Hope this helps :)

The answer is False. Simple machines are divided into three main categories, and not two. They are Levers, inclined planes and Pulleys. These three simple machines all change force in such a way that it makes it easier for us to move an object.

A combined circuit has two resistors in series (27.5 ohms and 33.0 ohms) and another in parallel (22.0 ohms). If the power sourc
Dafna1 [17]
R 1,2 = 27.5 + 33.0 = 60.5 Ohms
1/ R 1,2,3 = 1/ 60.5 + 1 / 22 = 82.5 / 1331
R 1, 2, 3 = 1331 / 82.5 = 16.13 Ohms
I = U / R
I = 9 V / 16.13 Ohms = 0.557 A ≈ 0.56 A

A jogger runs 20 mi West and then 6.0 mi North. Find the magnitude and direction of the resultant displacement.
Black_prince [1.1K]

Answer:

The magnitude of the resultant displacement is 21 mi and its direction is 16.7° north of west

Explanation:

Hi there!

Please see the figure for a better understanding of the problem. The total displacement vector will be the sum of both displacements:

The vector for the first displacement is:

First displacement = (20 mi, 0)

The second displacement:

Second displacement = (0, 6.0 mi)

The resultant displacement will be:

R = (20 mi, 0) + (0, 6.0 mi) = (20 mi + 0, 0 + 6.0 mi) = (20 mi, 6.0 mi)

The magnitude of this vector will be:

|R| = \sqrt{(20 mi)^{2} + (6.0 mi)^{2}} = 21 mi

The magnitude of the vector displacement is 21 mi.

To find the direction of the vector R, we have to apply trigonometry:

In a right triangle the following trigonometric rule applies:

cos θ = adjacent side to the angle/ hypotenuse

In this case:

cos θ = 20 mi / magnitude of R

θ = 16.7°

The direction of the vector is 16.7° north of west.

A 7.0kg skydiver is descending with a constant velocity
Vikentia [17]

Answer:

The air resistance on the skydiver is 68.6 N

Explanation:

When the skydiver is falling down, there are two forces acting on him:

- The force of gravity, of magnitude mg, in the downward direction (where m is the mass of the skydiver and g is the acceleration due to gravity)

- The air resistance, R, in the upward direction

So the net force on the skydiver is:

F=mg-R

where

m = 7.0 kg is the mass

g=9.8 m/s^2

According to Newton's second law of motion, the net force on a body is equal to the product between its mass and its acceleration (a):

F=ma

In this problem, however, the skydiver is moving with constant velocity, so his acceleration is zero:

a=0

Therefore the net force is zero:

F=0

And so, we have:

mg-R=0

And so we can find the magnitude of the air resistance, which is equal to the force of gravity:

R=mg=(7.0)(9.8)=68.6 N
