A student drops a water balloon from tall building trying to hit her roommate on the ground below (and misses). After dropping t
Fudgin [204]

Answer:

H = 70.4 m

Explanation:

Here first of all the balloon will drop to the the floor under free fall motion and then the sound of splash will come up at constant speed

so we will say that if the total height is H

so the time to fall is given as

H = \frac{1}{2}gt^2

now we have

t_1 = \sqrt{\frac{2H}{g}}

also we know that the time to come the sound upwards is

t_2 = \frac{H}{v}

so we will have

t_1 + t_2 = T

\sqrt{\frac{2H}{g}} + \frac{H}{v} = T

now plug in all data

\sqrt{\frac{2H}{9.81}} + \frac{H}{331} = 4

by solving above equation we have

H = 70.4 m

Reactance Frequency Dependence: Sketch a graph of the frequency dependence of a resistor, capacitor, and inductor. RLC Circuit R
jolli1 [7]

Answer:

f=\frac{1}{2\pi \sqrt{LC}}

Explanation:

We know that impedance of a RLC circuit is given by Z=R+J(X_L-X_C)

So Z=\sqrt{R^2+(X_L-X_C)^2} here R is resistance X_L is inductive reactance and X_C is capacitive reactance

To minimize the impedance X_L-X_C should be zero we know that X_L=\omega L\ and \ X_C=\frac{1}{\omega C}

So \omega L-\frac{1}{\omega C}=0

\omega ^2=\frac{1}{LC}

\omega =\sqrt{\frac{1}{LC}}

We know that \omega =2\pi f

So \omega =2\pi f=\frac{1}{\sqrt{LC}}

f=\frac{1}{2\pi \sqrt{LC}}

Where f is resonance frequency
