Two resistors, A and B, are connected in parallel across a 8.0 V battery. The current through B is found to be 3.0 A. When the t

Answer:

R_A = 2.67 ohms

R_B = 1.14 ohms

Explanation:

When the resistors are connected in parallel, the voltage will be the same across both resistors A and B.

Thus, we now have the current and the voltage across B and so we can use Ohm's Law to find the resistance.

V/I = R

Thus, resistance of B; R_B = 8/3

R_B = 2.67 ohms

Now, when the resistors are connected in series, the voltage drop across B is;

V = 8V - 2.4V = 5.6V

Since we now have the resistance of B , we can find the current using Ohm's Law. Thus;

I = V/R

I = 5.6/2.67

I = 2.1 A

Now, current is the same for all resistances in a series circuit because this is the same current through resistors A and B. So, we can use Ohm's law again to find the resistance across A.

So, R = V/I

R_A = 2.4/2.1

R_A = 1.14 ohms

Which goes faster? *
light in space
sound in air
sound in space
light in water
andrezito [222]

Answer:

Hello! Your answer is, sound in the air is faster

Explanation:

The speed of sound through air is about 340 meters per second. It's faster through water and it's even faster through steel. Light will travel through a vacuum at 300 million meters per second. So they're totally different scales.

Hope I helped! Ask me anything if you have any questions! Brainiest plz. Hope you make an 100% and have a nice day! -Amelia♥

A 49 kg person is being dragged in their sleeping bag to the lake by a 593 N
crimeas [40]

Answer:

f = 485.62 N

Explanation:

Since, the bag is moving with some acceleration. Hence, the unbalanced force will be given as:

Unbalanced Force = Horizontal Component Applied Force - Frictional Force

Unbalanced Force = Fx - f

But, from Newtons Second Law of Motion:

Unbalanced Force = ma

comparing the equations:

ma = Fx - f

f = F Cos θ - ma

where,

f = frictional force = ?

F = Applied force = 593 N

m = mass of person = 49 kg

a = acceleration = 0.57 m/s²

θ = Angle with horizontal = 30°

Therefore,

f = (593 N)(Cos 30°) - (49 kg)(0.57 m/s²)

f = 513.55 N - 27.93 N

f = 485.62 N

An automobile starter motor has an equivalent resistance of 0.055 Ï and is supplied by a 12.0 v battery which has a 0.0305 Ï int
LiRa [457]
12 V is the f.e.m. \epsilon of the battery. The potential difference that is applied to the motor is actually the fem minus the voltage drop on the internal resistance r:
\epsilon - Ir
this is equal to the voltage drop on the resistance of the motor R:
RI
so we can write:
\epsilon - Ir = RI
and using r=0.0305~\Omega and R=0.055~\Omega we can find the current I:
I= \frac{\epsilon}{R+r}=140~A
