Three students are discussing a situation where a bicyclist travels at a steady 18.0 m/s for 10 minutes, then at 6.0 m/s for 20

minutes and finally at 12.0 m/s for 15 minutes along a straight level road. Students make the following contentions about the bicyclist's average speed for the overall trip:

Answer:10.667 m/s

Explanation:

Given

For First half students travel for 18 m/s for 10 min

For second half students travel for 6 m/s for 20 min

For last half students travel for 12 m/s for 15 min

average Speed=\frac{Distance}{Time}

V_{avg}=\frac{18\times 600+6\times 1200+12\times 900}{600+1200+900}

V_{avg}=\frac{28800}{2700}=10.667

Why would ash from a volcano make the temperature drop?
Komok [63]
First, volcanic eruptions produce major quantities of carbon dioxide (CO2), a gas known to contribute to the greenhouse effect. ... The small ash particles decrease the amount of sunlight reaching the surface of the earth and lower average global temperatures.

why does static electricity, the buildup of charge on a material's surface, occur in insulating material
likoan [24]
When rubbing two insulators together, electrons from one insulator will be transfered to the other. so the insulator that has just received electrons now has a negative charge as it has received more electrons (making it more negative) the insulator that has just lost electrons has just become positively charged. NEVER SAY THAT PROTONS HAVE BEEN TRANSEFERD.... EVER. ONLY ELECTORNS ARE TRANSFERED.
