You are going to solve this in such a quick, slick way
that you will blink and not believe it.  Fasten your seat belt.

Here are the tools you'll need:

--  Volume of a cylinder  =  (pi) (radius)² (height)

--  Volume of a sphere  =  (4/3) (pi) (radius)³

Now ... the question says that your cylinder and your sphere
have the same volume.  Fine !  So you can immediately write
an equation saying that their volumes are equal.

                               (pi) (radius)² (height)  =  (4/3) (pi) (radius)³

Divide each side by pi:    (radius)² (height)  =  (4/3)       (radius)³

Divide each side by (radius)²        (height)  =  (4/3)        (radius)

Fill in the given height:                  (6 cm)    =  (4/3)      (radius)

Multiply each side by  3/4 :    (6 cm) x (3/4)  =             radius

I'm pretty sure that you can take over now and find the radius.

Hi there! :)

Answer:

\huge\boxed{C}

To simplify the process, convert each given weight into standard notation:

Lion:

1 * 10^{5} = 1 * 100000 = 100,000 g

Ant:

2 * 10^{-3}  =  2* 0.001 = 0.002

Divide the ant's weight from the lion's weight:

100000 / 0.002 = 50,000,000

Convert to scientific notation: (use # of zeros to determine exponent)

50,000,000 = 5 * 10^{7}

Therefore, the correct answer is C.

A farmer wants to fence in a rectangular area that is 1/8 mile wide by 1/4 mile long. which of the following proportions can the
nikitadnepr [17]
1mi = 5280feet
 The first thing you should do in this case is to calculate the perimeter of the rectangle which will be given by:
 P = 2 * L + 2 * W
 Where
 L = long
 W = width
 Calculating we have:
 P = 2 * (1/4) + 2 * (1/8)
 P = 1/2 + 1/4
 P = 3/4 mi
 To calculate this distance to feet we have to use the following expression:
 (3/4) / (x) = 1/5280
 answer:
