The given triangle is a right triangle right angled at angle C. For angle B the adjacent side is BC ,the side opposite to angle B is AC while AB is hypotenuse. Sin of any angle is ratio of opposite and hypotenuse.

Sin\frac{opposite}{hypotenuse}

The opposite in the figure is 24 and hypotenuse is 25

Substituting the values of opposite and hypotenuse from figure we have:

Sin B=\frac{24}{25}

As we are given

Opposite side of the angle B=24

Hypotenuse =25

\\ \ sin \theta=\frac{Opposite}{Hypotenuse}\\ \\ \ SinB=\frac{24}{25}\\

A mixture of compounds X and Y in a 0.100-cm cell had an absorbance of 0.215 at 272 nm and 0.191 at 327 nm. Find [X] and [Y] in
Oksi-84 [34.3K]

Answer: The concentration of X is 7.13582\times 10^{-6} and the concentration of Y is 2.53159\times 10^{-5}.

Step-by-step explanation:

Since we have given that

At 272 nm, absorbance = 0.215

At 327 nm, absorbance = 0.191

As we have given that

                               Compound X             Compound Y

272                               16400                            3870

327                                3990                             6420

So, our equations becomes

16400C_1+3870c_2=0.215\\\\3990C_1+6420C_2=0.191

By solving these two equations, we get that

C_1=7.13582\times 10^{-6}\\\\C_2=2.53159\times 10^{-5}

Hence, the concentration of X is 7.13582\times 10^{-6} and the concentration of Y is 2.53159\times 10^{-5}.

A number is doubled and then the product is increased by 6. This sum is then multiplied by -3, and the result is 54 greater than
34kurt

Answer:

  • -24

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the number be x

<u>Then we have the equation</u>

  • (2x + 6)*(-3) = -3x + 54
  • -6x - 18 = -3x + 54
  • 6x - 3x = -18 - 54
  • 3x = -72
  • x = -72/3
  • x = - 24

The area of a circle is increasing at the rate of pi cm^(2)/min. At what rate is the radius increasing when the area is 4pi cm^(
Vikentia [17]
This problem deals the rate of change.
For the formula of the area of a circle, we differentiate both sides with respect to time t.
(A = πr^2) d/dt
dA/dt = 2πr (dr/dt)

Since we don't know yet the radius r, the area of a circle is given.
A = πr^2
r^2 = A/π = 4π/π
r^2 = 4
r = 2 cm

Therefore, the rate of the radius is
dA/dt = 2πr (dr/dt)
dr/dt = (dA/dt)/(2πr)
dr/dt = π/(2π*2)
dr/dt = 0.25 cm/min

Hope this helps.

Find the measure of each acute angle in the figure.
Artist 52 [7]

Answer:

Angle 1 = 46°

Angle 2 = 44°

Step-by-step explanation:

Given:

Angle 1 = (4x - 2)°

Angle 2 = (3x + 8)°

Angle 3 = 90°

Find:

All acute angle

Computation:

Using angle sum property

Angle 1 + Angle 1 + Angle 1 = 180°

(4x - 2)° + (3x + 8)° + 90° = 180°

7x + 6 = 90

7x = 84

x = 12°

So,

Angle 1 = (4x - 2)° = 4(12) - 2 = 46°

Angle 2 = (3x + 8)° = 3(12) + 8 = 44°

A grocery store is offering a sale on bread and soup. Khalil buys four cans of soup and loaves of bread for $11.67. Ronda buys e
Annette [7]

Answer:

a. The equation should be

4x + 3y = $11.67

8x + y = $12.89

b. The price of one can of soup and the price of one loaf of bread is $1.355 and $2.09

The calculation is as follows:

here we assume the soup be x and bread be y

So, the equations are

4x + 3y = $11.67 .........(1)

8x + y = $12.89.........(2)

Here we need to multiply by 2 in equation 1

8x + 6x = $23.34

8x + y = $12.89

5y = $10.45

y = $2.09

Now x should be

8($2.09) + y = $12.89

x = $1.355

Hope this helps :)
