The wavelength (λ), speed (c) and the frequency (ν) of a wave are related as:

ν = c/λ -----(1)

The speed of the waves is a constant in vacuum i.e. it remains at 3*10⁸ m/s. therefore, it will not change with changes in wavelength or frequency.

Let us consider:

ν1 = initial frequency and λ1 = initial wavelength

ν2 = final frequency and λ2 = final wavelength = 2(λ1)

based on equation (1) we have:

ν1/ν2 = λ2/λ1 = 2(λ1)/λ1 = 2

therefore: ν2 = 1/2(ν1)

The frequency will get reduced by one-half as the wavelength doubles.

Tcecarenko [31]

Answer:

3.75 * 10^7 g of this water would have been consumed.

Explanation:

ppm represents parts per million.

ppm = (mass solute / mass solution ) *10^6

⇒It is a way to express the concentration of very dilute solutions.

For this situation we have:

ppm = (grams of mercury / grams of solution ) * 10^6

0.004 = (x grams of mercury / 1g of solution) 10^6

x = 0.004 /10^6

x = 4 *10^-9 g Mercury

This mass of mercury is per gram of solution. In the next step, we can calculate the amount of solution (water plus mercury) that would have to be ingested to ingest 0.150 g of mercury

0.150 g of Hg * (1g of solution/ 4 *10^-9 g Mercury)= 3.75 *10^7

3.75 * 10^7 g of this water would have been consumed.

What are liters, millimeters, and cubic centimeters used to measure
Lapatulllka [165]
They are all units of volume as are, Cubic Metres, Cubic Inches and Cubic Feet. 1mL and 1 cubic centimetre (cc) are the same. Any one of the above is used to indicate the Density of substances which are compared to the density of pure water. By multiplying the Density of water by the Specific Gravity of the substance (Liquid or Solid), its density and, by calculation, it mass can be found. (cc and cmÂł are used for the solid materials. (a mL or Litre of copper or other solid doesn't quite sound right as they are used for liquid volume.
