The book The Great Gatsby was written by Francis Scott Key Fitzgerald. Fitzgerald was named after his ancestor Francis Scott Key

, the writer of "The Star-Spangled Banner." Although Fitzgerald struggled in school as kid he managed to enroll at Princeton in 1913. He ended up having academic troubles and lost interest in school so he dropped out of college and instead enlisted himself in the army in 1917 towards the end of WW1. Answer:

A) True.

Explanation:

It is true that a lot of events that happened in his book also happened in his life but is not quite identical. Fitzgerald became a second lieutenant. While stationed in Camp Sheridan, he met and fell in love with Zelda Sayre. She had an uncontrollable desire for wealth and fun. When Fitzgerald published "This Side of Paradise" and earned a lot of money, Zelda agreed to marry him. Like Jay Gatsby, Fitzgerald revered wealth and luxury and acquired many properties. Like Jay Gatsby, Fitzgerald also threw big parties to win Zelda's love.

How did mercantilism increase the likelihood of conflicts between European powers?
rusak2 [61]
The main way in which mercantilism increased the likelihood of conflicts between European powers was that it led to a dispute over who could trade where, and disputes over the trade agreements themselves, since every country wanted "the best deal".
