The y intercept is the initial value, which is graphed on the y axis (or vertical line). In a word problem the y intercept is the original or starting value. In a graph you can find it where the data begins on the vertical axis.

An ice cream cone has a scoop of ice cream that is a half-sphere on top. what is the volume of the whole ice cream cone with the
KengaRu [80]

Volume of a cone = PI x r^2 x h/3

R = 1/2 x diameter = 1/2 x 9 = 4.5

h  = 14

Volume of the cone = 3.14 x 4.5^2 x 14/3

Volume = 1146.623 cubic in.

The volume of a sphere = 4/3 x PI x r^3

r = 4.5

Volume = 4/3 x 3.14 x 4.5^3

Volume = 381.51

The ice cream is a half sphere, so divide by 2:

381.51 / 2 = 190.755 cubic in.

Total volume = 1146.623 + 190.755 = 1337.4 cubic in. (rounded to nearest tenth)

Milan puts 1/4 of her lawn mowing money savings and uses 1/2 of the remaining money to pay back her sister.If she has 15$ left,
Feliz [49]

Answer:

$40

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the amount of money she has at first be $x.

She put 1/4 for savings, this means she decides to spend 3/4. The 3/4 is equivalent to (3/4)x

Now, she puts half of the money not saved to pay back her sister and has $15 left.

This means the (3/4)x is equivalent to $30. This is because she used half which is $15 to pay back her sister.

Now, since (3/4)x equals 30, we calculate x

(0.75)x = 30

x = 30/0.75 = $40

She originally had $40
