Elwin is standing 50.0m from a large bell. He throws a rock at the bell and hears the sound of the bell 4.50s later. If the spee

Time taken by the sound to come from bell to Elwin

t = \frac{d}{v}

here we know that

d = 50 m

v = 330 m/s

now from above equation we have

t_1 = \frac{50}{330} = 0.15 s

now since we know that total time taken to hear the sound is 4.50s

so here we will have time to reach the rock to the bell is

t_2 = t - t_1

t_2 = 4.50 - 0.15 = 4.35 s

now we know that distance of the bell is 50 m

so speed of the rock is given as

v = \frac{d}{t_2} = \frac{50}{4.35}

v = 11.5 m/s

Rank the nonmetals in each set from most reactive (1) to least reactive (3). Bromine: Chlorine: Iodine:
ANEK [815]

The most reactive element of this list is Chlorine, the next most reactive is bromine, and the least reactive is iodine.

All of these three elements are group 7 elements in the periodic table. It is known that the reactivity of group 7 elements decreases down the group. The most reactive element in this group is Flourine  with reactivity decreasing down the group.

The reason for this decrease in reactivity is that as you go down the group, the distance between the positive nucleus that attracts valence electrons increases, decreasing the electrostatic attraction between the nucleus and the outer electrons. The other reason is that the electrons in lower energy levels closer to the nucleus repel and shield the electrons in the outermost shell or energy level of the atom.

Chlorine>Bromine>Iodine.

Name and explain the<br> various types of friction.
yawa3891 [41]

Answer:

There are four types of friction: static, sliding, rolling, and fluid friction. Static, sliding, and rolling friction occur between solid surfaces. Static friction is strongest, followed by sliding friction, and then rolling friction, which is weakest. Fluid friction occurs in fluids, which are liquids or gases.
