The first step in responding to any sports injury is to __________.

Health

Immobilize the injured area. Often the common mistake committed in sports injuries is to move the injured person from the site where the injury occurred. This should not be done and should be highly avoided as this may aggravate the injury further. Athletes are always recommended to stay put in the area of injury and wait for a physician to assess and check the situation.

After this a person should practice the principle of R.I.C.E.  (Rest, Ice, Compression, and Elevation) to make the injury heal faster and prevent further damage on the surrounding tissues.

Rewards.
