Soups and chilis are excellent food for cold weather. Cupping a bowl of hot soup in your frozen hands while the steam rises to a

lmost kiss your cold cheeks warm you up as much as a roaring fire. Each swallow of warm soup banishes all the wind-chill you felt walking from school to your front door. Some very popular favorite soups for the autumn and winter are loaded baked potato soup, taco soup, chili (with meat or vegetarian), and lobster or crab bisque. A final benefit of making soup is that you often have plenty leftover to freeze and pull out and eat on another cold day without having to cook at all!
Which sentence serves as the best introductory sentence to the above paragraph?
A) One of my very favorite soups is French Onion soup because it's so salty and delicious!
B) People like to eat many different things in the cold parts of the year, especially sandwiches.
C) I don't like being cold, and so, in the winter, I make sure that I light up a few logs every night in our fireplace.
D) Whenever autumn arrives each year, savvy cooks know that it's time to break out the soup recipes and start cooking!

Answer:

D)Whenever autumn arrives each year, savvy cooks know that it's time to break out the soup recipes and start cooking!

Step-by-step explanation:

Although all the answer choices are sentences related to eating, winter, or soup, only the following sentence leads smoothly into this paragraph: Whenever autumn arrives each year, savvy cooks know that it's time to break out the soup recipes and start cooking! This sentence leads nicely into a sentence that re-emphasizes an idea hinted at in this topic sentence--that soup is a great food to make in the winter.

In a simple regression analysis (where y is a dependent and x an independent variable), if the y-intercept is positive, then it
Rom4ik [11]

Answer:

m=\frac{S_{xy}}{S_{xx}}

Where:

S_{xy}=\sum_{i=1}^n x_i y_i -\frac{(\sum_{i=1}^n x_i)(\sum_{i=1}^n y_i)}{n}

S_{xx}=\sum_{i=1}^n x^2_i -\frac{(\sum_{i=1}^n x_i)^2}{n}

\bar x= \frac{\sum x_i}{n}

\bar y= \frac{\sum y_i}{n}

And we can find the intercept using this:

b=\bar y -m \bar x

On this case the correct answer would be:

E.  none of the above

Since the intercept has no association between the increase/decrease of the dependent variable respect to the independent variable

Step-by-step explanation:

Assuming the following options:

A.  there is a positive correlation between X and Y

B.  there is a negative correlation between X and Y

C.  if X is increased, Y must also increase

D.  if Y is increased, X must also increase

E.  none of the above

If we want a model y = mx +b where m represent the lope and b the intercept

m=\frac{S_{xy}}{S_{xx}}

Where:

S_{xy}=\sum_{i=1}^n x_i y_i -\frac{(\sum_{i=1}^n x_i)(\sum_{i=1}^n y_i)}{n}

S_{xx}=\sum_{i=1}^n x^2_i -\frac{(\sum_{i=1}^n x_i)^2}{n}

\bar x= \frac{\sum x_i}{n}

\bar y= \frac{\sum y_i}{n}

And we can find the intercept using this:

b=\bar y -m \bar x

On this case the correct answer would be:

E.  none of the above

Since the intercept has no association between the increase/decrease of the dependent variable respect to the independent variable

Digiron [165]

Answer:

85.95  km

Step-by-step explanation:

Given that,

Alberto ran 45 kilometers on Monday.

On Tuesday, he runs 91% of the distance he ran on Monday.

We need to find how far did he run on Tuesday. It can be given by :

T=45+45\times \dfrac{91}{100}\\\\=85.95\ km

So, he run 85.95  km on Tuesday.
