Answer: -

4C₂H₅ + 13 O₂ → 8 CO₂ + 10 H₂O

Explanation: -

The given equation is

C₂H₅ + O₂ → CO₂ + H₂O

Balancing for H,

2C₂H₅ + O₂ → CO₂ + 5H₂O

Balancing for C

2C₂H₅ + O₂ → 4CO₂ + 5H₂O

Now right hand side we are getting 13 O which is an odd number.

In order to balance O, we first try to even out the number of O on right side by multiplying whole equation by 2.

4C₂H₅ + 2O₂ → 8CO₂ + 10H₂O

Now balancing for O

4C₂H₅ + 13 O₂ → 8 CO₂ + 10 H₂O

P,T,Y refers to the set of points which are collinear and is therefore denoted as option C.

What are Collinear points?

This is commonly used in geometry and refers to the set of points which lie on the same straight line and are always close to each other when compared to other points. It is possible for them to appear on different planes only and the value by the triangle from the three points is usually zero.

In the example give, only P,T and Y are the points which lie on the same line while other options have points which lie on different lines thereby making them incorrect.

This is therefore the reason why option C was chosen as the most appropriate choice.

Which atom in the ground state requires the least amount of energy to remove its valence electron?(1) lithium atom (2) potassium
Fudgin [204]

Answer:

                   Rubidium (Rb)

Explanation:

Ionization Energy is defined as, "the minimum energy required to knock out or remove the valence electron from valence shell of an atom".

Trends in Periodic table:

               Along Periods:

Ionization Energy increases from left to right along the periods because moving from left to right in the same period the number of protons (atomic number) increases but the number of shells remain constant hence, resulting in strong nuclear interactions and electrons are more attracted to nucleus hence, requires more energy to knock them out.

              Along Groups:

Ionization energy decreases from top to bottom along the groups because the number of shells increases and the distance between nucleus and valence electrons also increases along with increase in shielding effect provided by core electrons. Therefore, the valence electrons experience less nuclear attraction and are easily removed.

Conclusion:

Given elements belong to same group hence, Rubidium present at the bottom of remaining elements will have least ionization energy due to facts explained in trends of groups above.

The polar isopropanol molecules are attracted to
Sergio [31]

When water (H2O) is added to liquid isopropanol to form a solution, then polar isopropanol molecules are attracted to polar water molecules at the surface of the water. It forms a solution of rubbing alcohol.

Isopropanol and water in the solution

Isopropyl alcohol is water-soluble and forms hydrogen bonds with molecules of water (H2O).

When H2O is added to liquid isopropanol to form a solution, H2O spread in a uniform way in the solution.

These isopropanol molecules can surround H2O molecules, which are carried into the solution.
