(1 point) Consider the chemical reaction aAl+bH2O→cAl(OH)3+dH2, where a, b, c, and d are unknown positive integers. The reaction

must be balanced; that is, the number of atoms of each element must be the same before and after the reaction. For example, because the number of oxygen atoms must remain the same, b=3c. While there are many possible choices for a, b, c, and d that balance the reaction, it is customary to use the smallest possible integers. Balance this reaction.

Answer:

2Al + 6H2O --> 2Al(H2O)3 + 3H2

Explanation:

aAl + bH2O --> cAl(H2O)3 + dH2

To balance this equation, the Al(H2O)3 is first multiplied by c = 2 to even out the water molecule.

Since we have done that, the reactant water molecule is balenced with b = 3 so that the difference in the Hydrogen in the aluminum hydroxide molecule and the reactant water molecule, which is 6 goes to the H2 (d = 3) in the product.

Then, the Al metal is balanced with a = 2 and then the reaction is balanced.

2Al + 6H2O --> 2Al(H2O) + 3H2

The given above pretty much states already that with the presence of the calcium carbonate which acts as the buffer will allow the solution to withstand changes in acidity. The greater the amount, the higher chances that it will be able to withstand the said changes. Therefore, if Lake X had greater ppm of CaCO3 then, it will be able to withstand greater amount of acid rain.

2. A 2.5 mol SAMPLE OF OXYGEN GAS (O2) INCREASES TO 3.2 mol
lana [24]

696.32 mmHg is the final pressure of the gas.

What is an ideal gas equation?

The ideal gas equation, pV = nRT, is an equation used to calculate either the pressure, volume, temperature or number of moles of a gas.

Given data:

P_1 = 720 mmHg

P_2 = ?

n_1 = 2.5 mol

n_2 = 3.2 mol

V_1 = 34 L

V_2 = 45 L

Formula

Combined gas law

\frac{P_1 V_1}{n_1} = \frac{P_2 V_2}{n_2}

P_2 = 696.32 mmHg

Hence, 696.32 mmHg is the final pressure of the gas.
