They are similar to animals because they can move and they are heterotrophs (heterotrophs are organisms that cannot manufacture their own food and instead get their food and energy by taking it from organic substances like plant matter).
Obesity may be on the rise in the United States because fast foods or food with high amounts of fat and calories tends to be cheaper then so called healthy foods such as salads and vegetables. As that’s the case people have the idea to chose the cheaper option. Another reason is because most people’s tastebuds have more of a liking to “fatty foods” then healthier options.
The most efficient way to eliminate waste is obviously to reduce. If we reduce the intake there wont be as much outtake.
