Answer:

Variance is 1.514\times 10^{7}

Solution:

As per the question:

Average value of the steam, \mu = 25000 pounds per hour,

To calculate the variance, \sigma ^{2} of the steam:

\bar{Z} = \frac{x - \mu }{\sigma }

where

\sigma = standard deviation

\bar{Z} at 0.8 is 1.285 from Z-table

Thus

\sigma = \frac{x - \mu }{\bar{Z}}

\sigma = \frac{30000 - 25000}{1.285}

\sigma = \frac{5000}{1.285} = 3891.051

Variance, \sigma ^{2} = 3891.051^{2} = 1.514\times 10^{7}

A pulsar is a rapidly rotating neutron star that emits a radio beam the way a lighthouse emits a light beam. We receive a radio
Gnesinka [82]

Answer:

a).a_p=-2.39x10^{-12} rad/s^2

b).t=1016298.8 years

c).T_i=80.58x10^{-3}s

Explanation:

a).

The acceleration for definition is the derive of the velocity so:

a_p=\frac{dw}{dt}

w=\frac{2\pi}{t}

a_p=\frac{dw}{dt}=-\frac{2\pi}{t^2}*\frac{dT}{dt}

dT=0.0808s

dt=1 year*\frac{365d}{1year} \frac{24hr}{1d} \frac{60minute}{1hr} \frac{60s}{1minute}=31.536x10^{6}s

Replacing

a_p=-\frac{2\pi}{0.082s^2}*\frac{9.84x10^{-7}}{31.536x10^{6}s}= -2.39x10^{-12} rad/s^2

b).

If the pulsar will continue to decelerate at this rate, it will  stop rotating at time:

t=\frac{w}{a_p}

w=\frac{2\pi }{t}=\frac{2\pi }{0.0820s}=76.62 rad/s

t=\frac{76.62 rad/s}{2.39x10^{-12}rad/s^2}= 3.2058x10^{13}s

t=1016298.8 years

c).

Several objects were dropped from a balcony. Using the data below, determine which statements must be true regarding the rate of
NeX [460]

Answer:

statement three and statement 2

Explanation

since they are weighted different, they will have more or less force (more mass=more force), also the heavier an object, the greater its acceleration while falling.

Two 100kg bumper cars are moving towards eachother in oppisite directions. Car A is moving at 8 m/s and Car B at -10 m/s when th
DerKrebs [107]

Answer:

-10 m/s

Explanation:

When two cars collide then the momentum of two cars will remains conserved

  • Mass of two cars = 100 kg
  • Speed of car A = 8 m/s
  • Speed of car B = - 10 m/s
  • After collision the speed of car B = +8 m/s

By momentum conservation equation

               m1v1i+m2v2i=m1v1f + m2v2f

               (100)(8)+(100)(-10)=(100v)+(100)(8)\\                            v=-10 m/s

If vector A=2i+3j-k and vector B=4i+6j-2k. The angle between them will be: a) 0°b)45°c)90°d)60°
melomori [17]

Notice that

<em>B</em> = 4<em>i</em> + 6<em>j</em> - 2<em>k</em> = 2 (2<em>i</em> + 3<em>j</em> - <em>k</em>) = 2<em>A</em>

so both vectors point in the same direction and the angle between them is (A) 0°.
