Answer: Option (1) and (2) are correct.

Explanation:

Elements which contain same number of valence electrons tend to show similar chemical properties. This is because having same number of valence electrons will make the atoms to react in a similar way.

For example, Silicon is a group 14 element. So, it contains only 4 valence electrons. Similarly, germanium and lead are group 14 elements and it has 4 valence electrons.

Therefore, silicon, germanium, and lead will have similar chemical properties.

Whereas phosphorous is a group 15 element, and chlorine is a group 17 element.

Thus, we can conclude that out of the given options germanium and lead elements has physical and chemical properties most similar to silicon (Si).

In order from most to least similar:
1. Germanium
2. Lead
3. Phosphorus
4. Chlorine
The elements in the same column as the element you have are the most similar. The rows are not. For example, though chlorine and magnesium are in the same row, they have very different properties, whereas chlorine and fluorine more similar

Hydrogen gas reacts with oxygen to form water. 2H2(
denpristay [2]
The reaction is as follows:
2 H₂(g) + O₂(g) → 2 H₂O(g) . ΔH = - 483.5 kJ
Using the change in enthalpy and heat, calculate the moles as follows:
Moles of H₂ = - \frac{amount of heat released}{ΔH} x 2 mol H₂
                  = - 216 kJ / (-483.5 kJ) x 2 mol H₂
                  = 0.893 mol H₂
Calculate the mass of H₂ using the moles and molar mass as follows:
0.893 mol H₂ x (2.02 g H₂ / 1 mol H₂) = 1.79 g H₂
Therefore, the mass of hydrogen gas is 1.79 g

What conflicts did issac newton have with Robert Hooke?
Minchanka [31]

Answer:

The great confrontation between the two men occurred  in 1686 when Newton published the first volume of his Principia and Hooke affirmed that it was he who had given him the notion that led him to the law of universal gravitation. Hooke demanded credit as the author of the idea but Newton denied it
