A sample of a gas is placed inside a cylinder that is a fixed size. The cylinder is heated as additional gas is added to it. Wha
makkiz [27]
The pressure of gas will increase because gaseous state is the final state and even if the heat added is evaporating some more gas is still added. It also depends on the temperature of heat added, if the temperature doesn't change the it's most likely for the pressure to be stable...
Hope it helps

What is the molarity of a solution of sulfuric acid if 49.0 mL of it are neutralized by a titration
vaieri [72.5K]

Answer:

THE MOLARITY OF THE ACID IS 0.232M

Explanation:

Molarity is the number of moles of solute per liter of a solution.

In titration, the molarity of the acid and the molarity of the base are related by this equation:

Ca VA / CbVb = na / nb

Ca = concentration of the acid = ?

Va = volume of the acid = 49 mL

Cb = concentration of the base = 0.333M

Vb = volume of the base = 68.4mL

Na = number of mole of acid = 1

Nb = number of mole of base = 2

Equation for the reaction:

H2SO4 + 2NaOH --------> Na2SO4 + 2H2O

Solving for the molarity of the acid, we have :

Ca = CbVbNa / VaNb

Ca = 0.333M * 68.4mL * 1 / 49mL *2

Ca = 22.7772 * 10^-3 / 98 *10^-3

Ca = 0.232M

The molarity of the acid is therefore 0.232M.

A chemist wants to make 6.5 L of a .350M CaCl2 solution. What mass of CaCl2(in g) should the chemist use?
kotykmax [81]
First M stands for Molarity which is (moles of solute) / (Liters of solution). we also know that moles = (mass) / (molar mass). so we can form some equations here. We know:
Molarity (M) = moles (mol) / Liters (L)
moles (mol) = (mass) / (molar mass)

we can substitute the (mass) / (molar mass) for (moles) and get:
M = [(mass) / (molar mass)] / Liters

we can now isolate mass and get
M * Liters * molar mass = mass

now we need to find the molar mass of CaCl2 which is 110.98 g/mol

plug the values in and get
.350M * 6.5L * 110.98 g/mol = mass

mass = 252.4795g however the 6.5L has only 2 sig figs so i would say

mass CaCl2 = 2.5 * 10 ^2 g
