The distance between any two points is the so-called distance formula which is an extension of the Pythagorean Theorem:

d^2=(x2-x1)^2+(y2-y1)^2, where (x1,y1) and (x2,x1) are two points.

In this case:

d^2=(3--6)^2+(5--6)^2

d^2=9^2+11^2

d^2=81+121

d^2=202

d=√202 units

d≈14.21 units (to the nearest hundredth of a unit)

The distance formula is sqrt((x1-x2)^2 + (y1-y2)^2), therefore (3-(-6))^2 = 9^2 and (5 -(-6))^2 = 11^2 so 121 + 81 = sqrt(202), this converted to decimal is ~14.21, so D.

What is the slope of a line that is perpendicular to a line whose equation is 3y=−4x+2 ?
vova2212 [387]

we know that

if two lines are perpendicular, then the product of their slopes is equal to minus one

so

m1*m2=-1

Step 1

<u>Find the slope of the given line</u>

we have

3y=-4x+2

Solve for y

Divide by 3 both sides

3y/3=(-4x+2)/3

y=-\frac{4}{3}x+ \frac{2}{3}

the slope of the given line is m1=-\frac{4}{3}

Step 2

<u>Find the slope  of a line that is perpendicular to the given line</u>

we have

m1=-\frac{4}{3}

m1*m2=-1

m2=-1/m1

substitute the value of m1

m2=-1/(-4/3)=\frac{3}{4}

therefore

<u>the answer is</u>

the slope is \frac{3}{4}

Find the principal needed now to get to $25,500 after 10 years at 6% compounded continuously
Inessa05 [86]

Answer: $14239.07

Explanation:

A=P(1+I)^n

25500=P(1+0.06)^10

25500=P(1.06)^10

25500÷(1.06)^10=P

P=$14239.07
