How is the process of natural selection involved in evolution?
Ann [662]
Natural selection means that the organisms better adapted to their environment, that is, they have developed the right characteristics/skills/response to the external ambient, have higher chance to survive, making the next generations genetically inherit such acquired surviving characteristics.
These generations will thus have a higher chance of survival, making these species being "naturally selected" as survivors, while those who haven't or are slower in this process, have a higher risk of elimination.

Which part of a DNA molecule is responsible for the direct coding of specific traits in anorganism?
Anastaziya [24]

The part of a DNA molecule responsible for the direct coding of specific traits in an organism is the nucleotide sequence.

<h3>How is a DNA molecule structured?</h3>

The DNA molecule is the biological molecule that stores genetic information in living organisms.

The DNA molecule is made up of three major components in its structure:

  • Five carbon sugar
  • Nucleotide bases
  • Phosphate group

The five carbon sugar is deoxyribose while the nucleotide bases are four in number as follows:

  1. Adenine
  2. Guanine
  3. Thymine
  4. Cytosine

These nucleotides are responsible for the direct coding of specific traits in an organism.

Is hypertonic active or passive transport
Len [333]

I'm a little confused by this question. Hypertonic just means that something has more of something than another thing. For example, if you place a cell in a solution, and 2% of the cell is made out of something while the solution is made out of 40% of the same thing, the solution would be hypertonic to the cell. Sorry if that explanation doesn't make sense, I tried my best lol.

Although I'd assume the answer is passive transport as anything that is hypertonic to something else will diffuse down its gradient in an attempt to reach a balance.
