You are standing on a concrete slab that in turn is resting on a frozen lake. Assume there is no friction between the slab and t

he ice. The slab has a weight five times your weight. If you begin walking forward at 2.00 m/s relative to the ice, with what speed, relative to the ice, does the slab move?

Answer:

Explanation:

Let the speed of slab with respect to ice be v

We shall apply law of conservation of momentum as movement to both slab and myself has emerged due to internal forces

( friction )

2 x m = v x 5 m   ( m and 5m are masses of man and slab )

v =2/5  m/s

velocity of slab wrt  to ice is 2/5 m /s

In a simple electric generator, a conducting loop of wire is placed in a magnetic field. The loop of wire is then rotated. Why i
kaheart [24]

Explanation:

If a coil of wire is placed in a magnetic field and rotated, an alternating (sinusoidal) current is induced. As it rotates, sometimes it is cutting through lots of magnetic flux, and so lots of current is

induced.

At other times, it is moving parallel to

the flux, and so no flux is cut, and no current is induced. In between, some current is induced. This creates an alternating current. Either end of the coil can be connected to wires outside of the generator in order to use the current elsewhere. This would be fine for the

first few rotations, but after this, the wires would get tangled up and the generator would be useless. To avoid this, we use a commutator. In an AC generator, this is a pair of rotating conducting 'slip rings' attached to either end of the coil. Carbon brushes bring these into contact with the outside world.

Nellie pulls on a 10kg wagon with a constant horizontal force of 30N. If there are no other horizontal gorces what is the wagons
kicyunya [14]

Answer:

a=3m/s^2

Explanation:

If we have a net force F acting on a body of mass m it will experiment an acceleration a. Newton's 2nd Law gives us the relation between these quantities: F=ma.

In our case, we want to calculate the acceleration, so we write:

a=\frac{F}{m}

With the values we have we get:

a=\frac{30N}{10Kg}=3m/s^2

What is the difference between mass and weight?
I am Lyosha [343]
Mass is the actual amount of material contained in a body and is measured by kg, gm, etc. Whereas weight is the force extorted by the gravity on that object mg. Note that mass is independent of everything but weight is different on earth, moon, etc.

Nat2105 [25]

Answer:

118800 seconds

Explanation:

Given :

Voltage, V = 1.2 V

Resistance, R = 22 Ω

Applying Ohm's law, we get

Voltage, V = IR

Current $I=\frac{V}{R}$

           $I=\frac{1.2}{22}$

          I = 0.0545 A

Rate = 1800 mAh

Time taken, $t=\frac{1800 \times 10^{-3}}{0.0545}$

                       = 33 hr

                      = 118800 s
