Yes, because imagine a car, as it races it has a positive acceleration. So imagine the car going faster, and at the point it is at and imagine it slowing down. Compared to its previous speed is it a positive or negative acceleration (after it slowed down)?
Negative.
this is because its speed is decreasing. When anything is decreasing it is negative.
In other words its speed is decreaseing meaning its having a negative acceleration

A shopper pushes a 5.32 kg grocery cart
Juli2301 [7.4K]

Answer:

\text { acceleration of the cart is } 10.94 \mathrm{m} / \mathrm{s}^{2}

Explanation:

According to “Newton's second law”

“Force” is “mass” times “acceleration”, or F = m× a. This means an object with a larger mass needs a stronger force to be moved along at the same acceleration as an object with a small mass

Force = mass × acceleration

\text { Acceleration }=\frac{\text { force }}{\text { mass }}

Given that,

Mass = 5.32 kg

\text { Force }=12.7 \mathrm{N} \text { forces at }-28.7^{\circ}

x=-28.7^{\circ}

F = 12.7N

Normal force = mg + F sinx,

“m” being the object's "mass",

“g” being the "acceleration of gravity",

“x” being the "angle of the cart"

\mathrm{g}=9.8 \mathrm{m} / \mathrm{s}^{2}\text { (g is referred to as the acceleration of gravity. Its value is } 9.8 \mathrm{m} / \mathrm{s}^ 2 \text { on Earth })

To find normal force substitute the values in the formula,

Normal force = 5.32 × 9.8 + 12.7 × sin(-28.7)

Normal force = 52.136 + 12.7 × 0.480

Normal force = 52.136 + 6.096

Normal force = 58.232 N

<u>Acceleration of the cart</u>:

\text { Acceleration }=\frac{\text {Normal force}}{\text { mass }}

\text { Acceleration }=\frac{58.232}{5.32}

\text { Acceleration }=10.94 \mathrm{m} / \mathrm{s}^{2}

\text { Therefore, "acceleration of the cart" is } 10.94 \mathrm{m} / \mathrm{s}^{2}

studies show that the amount of heat stored in the ocean is increasing. what effect might this have? a. the water cycle might di
Rasek [7]

Answer;

D. ocean currents might change course.

Explanation;

Ocean currents are the directed movements of water in the ocean and can be caused by wind (for currents closer to the surface) and temperature, salinity, or density differences (currents deeper in the ocean). Ocean currents help to warm or cool certain parts of the earth by carrying warmer water northward or cooler water toward the equator.

Climate change can have a vast effect on ocean currents because of the change in temperature it causes, which results in change in ocean water temperatures and a subsequent distortion in current flow.

Do you think that solids can undergo convection? EXPLAIN!
Katarina [22]
 <span>No. Solids can't undergo convection, the reason is that convection works because moving molecules which are hotter and faster have a lower density and therefore rise to the surface. With a solid now, the molecules don't move they can only vibrate.

Therefore solids conduct.</span>
