Answer:

Genetics is a branch of science that deals with the study of genes, their sequence, function, variation, and heredity.

Increasing understanding of genetics help in making new fields of health care, for example,

  • Gene therapy helps in treating various genetic diseases such as cystic fibrosis et cetera.
  • Molecular genetics help in the development of more precise methods for diagnosis such as ELISA.
  • Pedigree analysis and karyotypes help in early detection of possible hereditary diseases.
  • DNA fingerprinting helps in detecting criminal suspects, paternity test, identification of dead organism et cetera.

Differentiate the osmosis in hypertonic and hypotonic solutions.
Nataly_w [17]

Answer:

A cell is in a hypertonic solution, the solution has a lower water concentration than the cell cytosol, and water moves out of the cell until both solutions are isotonic. Cells placed in a hypotonic solution will take in water across their membranes until both the external solution and the cytosol are isotonic.

What are other factors that may lead to clumped distribution patterns in populations?
motikmotik

Answer:

An area with an uneven distribution of food, water, moisture, temperature, or other resources can cause clumped dispersion. This pattern can also be caused by the formation of social groups based on protection or hunting. In plants, clumped dispersion is common when offspring fail to disperse from parent plants.

Why would these modifications be important i.e.<br>what unique feature does Arthrobotrys have?)
Drupady [299]

Answer:

Forming adhesive trapping nets.

Explanation:

These modifications are important to captured its food and to survive in the environment. Unique feature does Arthrobotrys have is the presence of predatory behaviour. Due to this predatory behaviour of Arthrobotrys, they are able to capture the food such as nematodes and feed on them. The Arthrobotrys belongs to the fungi family Orbiliaceae and have 71 species. This fungi formed adhesive trapping nets in order to capture its food.

8. One of the lowest layers of Earth's atmosphere has undergone a large increase in temperature
Kamila [148]

Answer:

Troposphere is the lowest layer of Earth’s atmosphere that has undergone a large increase in temperature due to the  presence of greenhouse gases.

Explanation:

Troposphere (0 to 12 km) where we live is the lowest layer of earth's atmosphere, which is closest to the earth's surface contains half of the atmosphere. Here most clouds are found and almost all weather occurs. Atmosphere contains approximately 78% of nitrogen , 21% of oxygen and 0.9% of argon. Gases like carbon dioxide, nitrous oxides, methane, ozone and the water vapor constitutes the rest of the atmosphere. Many small particles called aerosols are also there which include dust, spores, pollen, volcanic ash, smoke etc.The greenhouse effect is a natural phenomenon that keeps the temperature on the earth suitable for supporting life. The greenhouse gases includes both natural and man-made gases like carbon dioxide , methane, nitrous oxide, chlorofluorocarbons, hydrochlorofluorocarbons, ozone, water vapour. They absorb radiation in the atmosphere and create the green house effect. The thermal infrared radiation emitted by the Earth’s surface and the atmosphere is absorbed by greenhouse gases. They trap heat within the surface-troposphere system preventing it from escaping back into space. This is called the greenhouse effect, which increases the temperature of the lower atmosphere. The increase in the atmospheric concentrations of greenhouse gases due to human activity has caused an increase in the natural greenhouse effect. As a result, the atmosphere is trapping too much heat which increases the temperature of the Earth.
