A cable is lifting a construction worker and a crate, as the drawing shows. The weights of the worker and crate are 965 N and 15

10 N, respectively. The acceleration of the cable is 0.620 m/s2, upward. What is the tension in the cable(a) below the worker and(b) above the worker?

Answer:(a)2631.46 N

(b)1605.51 N

Explanation:

Assuming there is a cable between crate and worker

Given

weight of worker W_w=965 N

Weight of crate W_c=1510 N

mass of worker m_w=\frac{965}{g}=98.46 kg

mass of crate m_c=\frac{1510}{g}=154.08 kg

acceleration of system a=0.620 m/s^2

Tension in the wire carrying Worker

T-(m_w+m_c)g=(m_w+m_c)a

T=(m_w+m_c)(g+a)

T=(252.54)(9.8+0.62)

T=2631.46 N

(b)Tension in the string above

T_2-m_c\cdot=m_ca

T_2=m_c(g+a)

T_2=154.08(9.8+0.62)

T_2=1605.51 N

Ad libitum [116K]
When the core runs out of hydrogen to fuse, then it starts fusing the helium. This happens because a star cannot create more hydrogen.

2. Calculate the kinetic energy of a football being launched downfield by Patrick Mahomes. The football has a mass of .5 kg and
DerKrebs [107]

Answer:

K.E = 156.25 Joules.

Explanation:

Given the following data;

Mass = 0.5kg

Velocity = 25 m/s

To find the kinetic energy;

Kinetic energy can be defined as an energy possessed by an object or body due to its motion.

Mathematically, kinetic energy is given by the formula;

K.E = \frac{1}{2}MV^{2}

Where;

K.E represents kinetic energy measured in Joules.

M represents mass measured in kilograms.

V represents velocity measured in metres per seconds square.

Substituting into the equation, we have;

K.E = \frac{1}{2}0.5*25^{2}

K.E = 0.25 * 625

K.E = 156.25 Joules.

7. Consumers can be predators, prey, scavengers, herbivores omnivoree, or carnivore: What is the common characteristic of all co
Kitty [74]

Answer:

B. Must eat to get energy

Explanation:

The common characteristics of all consumers is that they must eat to get energy. This way, they are termed heterotrophs.

Heterotrophs are organisms that cannot make their own food. They must eat other organisms to obtain nutrition for energy needs.

Plants do not do this. They are autotrophs in that they simply make their own food.

They use this food to obtain energy for their living activities.
